Chez - go hard love! Use it - I always feel about a thousand times more motivated after even a small loss.
BW - sucks that you're hurting. The prednisone battle sounds really tough.
AFM - my sister hit town last night, after we had been out at a gig. It was our big night out, and we had a great time. Japanese for dinner, a quick pre-gig vodka, beer inside the gig, beer afterwards down the road, came home for a nightcap. DH decided he wanted some chips - so he peeled some spuds and made some while half-cut. Hilarious!
Hitching a lift down the coast with sis tonight, could be another blowout but I'll keep an eye on it.
-
Cherished! That is so amazingly awesome! Good work chickie! Fingers crossed for a 6 on Monday :)
Snugg - Sounds like an awesome night. Hope tonight is just as good.
BW - That is the pits. I am with you in pain land at the moment and know how you feel. Big hugs.
Well I weighed in this morning to start off my challenge and was pretty damn happy to see that I was 500g lighter than I thought. I have to admit I have been eating lots of junk food this week but obviously I had a loss the week before when my cast was on and I couldn't weigh. I was expecting a bit to have gained. So woo hoo! Only 8.5 to go.
Anyway will see you all tomorrow or Monday.

:hug:Hi everyone,
Maz - Welcome!! Best of luck to you :)
Cherished - That's a fabulous loss, good on you!
Snuggly - You must be so fit with all of that exercise. I wish I could do as much, but I have dodgy knees, so pretty much walking is all that I'm up for. I hope you have a better week this week. (that hug at the top of the page was for you snuggly)
Krys - well done on the loss!
BW - I hope that the pain eases for you soon. It must be difficult trying to cope with the pain, and look after a little one as well. Congrats on getting down to the 60's though!
My 12 week challenge plan:
* Walk for an hour at least 3 mornings a week.
* Free weights focussing on my arms 3 times a week
* Dancing for half an hour 2 days a week.
Food
* sticking to my 1600 kilojoules per meal.
* eating something every 3 hours.
* drinking 8 glasses of water each day.
* allowing myself treats when I feel desperate for them ;)
Goal
To get to 65 kilos first and then see where I go from there.
I'd like to get my waist measurent under 88cm (have been watching that add on the tv) . Currently at 94 cm, so I'm not sure what that will be in kilos.
Reward.
When I'm happy with how I look, I'm going to buy myself some nice togs from Sunburn - instead of the mismatched tops and boardshorts I wear
-
Jazah - cycling is a really good option for dodgy knees. If you see a physio or anyone, ask them about it. A friend's mum had a reconstruction not long ago and was recommended to get on a bike. Just really important that you have gears and you spin, not grind - i.e. pedal on an "easier" setting and get your legs going faster. I am totally guilty of grinding.
AFM - weekend with sis not a blowout at all! We ate so much fresh healthy food together. We had one beer, but it was a craft beer, so not the worst we could do, and more than a few cups of chai. Haven't been able to weigh in yet as best friend is staying downstairs where we keep the scales. I had an early start today and didn't want to wake her. We decided to have a foot spa last night - I don't own a foot spa, so we filled our two exkies with warm water and smelly bath oils and soaked away with a gin and tonic! Poor old DH is going to cop some flak off his mates when he opens his esky next and it smells like lavender and ylang ylang!
-
Snugg - glad you had a wondeful weekend - sounds just like what you needed! LOL at the esky foot spa.
Krys - well done on the loss.
I weighed in today and had a loss of 0.75 yay!! So I am 67.85kg now. I am soooo rapt that there is a 67 starting my weight. I also did my measurements and for the first time my waist is 80cm so I have hit that target - I have lost 17cm since I started on the previous 12 week challenge from my waist and 14cm from my hips so far!
-
weigh in day today and i lost 2.3kg:dance:
-
snuggly - that's great that you managed to eat healthily with your sis, and I think the foot spa esky (or perhaps spasky) is hilarious. I haven't tried cycling. I don't own a bike either, but next time there is one near me I'll give it a go.
nai- that's a great loss, and excellent that your waist is 80cm! You've done well to lose so many centimetres.
Mr Squid - way to go!! 2.3 is amazing!
I was pleased when i looked at the scales and they told me i'd lost 1.8 kilos this week. Calorie king said it wasn't good though, and recommended i increase my kilojoule intake. It said I may be losing muscle .
-
Wow Mr Squidipa..good on you
Whoot JazMum - Years ago would not have worried about the rate of weight loss but now I am older I want to make sure I've got some muscle tone especially with oesto so prevalent in my family.
Ok so I bought some scales and I weighed in at 73.9kgs. My waist measurement is 105cm (OMG) but I have just had a baby so I guess that is not too bad.
Last week I managed to exercise 3 times and I have managed to cut out my late night biscuits and chocolate.
-
Hi Bek - I can't live without my sweet treats after meals, so i just make sure I include them in my kilojoule count. Today I had a small pavlova case, with some diet yoghurt and strawberries. Not too high in kj's but hit the spot. WW's also have some delicious desserts that aren't too high in kj's as well.
-
Well done on all the weight losses guys :cheer:
I ended up with up with a loss of 1.7kg because the scales went up again this morning  I'm sure it was just fluid though so not worried at all and very happy with the loss as it is... next week I  I'll see a 6 infront!
-
Gosh I see some fantastic losses here people!!! Yay
Not sure how I'll go tomorrow night at weigh in as I've been over a couple of days on my points. I've done a few really good walks though so hoping that's enough.
Hmm I was going to say something but can't remember what!!! Good grief
I neeed to find my mojo again. I seem to have lost the initial thrust you get when first going on a weight loss plan. Where did I put it???????
FOr those with weight loss tickers... how do you update them? My last one didnt have a facility so I had to look for a new one.
-
some great losses guys well done keep up the good work
-
Hey guys.

Hello! I lost my internet connection for a week - talk about feeling like my throat had been cut! Had a bad week so ate lots of yucky stuff. Clearly I'm a stress eater!
Back to it today. I guess. How's that for enthusiasm LOL.
-
Well... gave myself time off over the long weekend for good behaviour. Still tried to make good food choices, but wasn't quite so rigid with things. We got to catch up with an old friend visiting from Emgland and I just didn't want to stress over things I was eating while she was here. So... chips, pasta, chocolate... I enjoyed it, but more than happy to get back on the bandwagon again. The arthritis has settled a bit - it's no longer getting me in every single joint. I also gave myself a short burst of higher dose steroids just to get me over the hump. I'll be back to where I was tomorrow, so hopefully it won't cause too much damage even with the slightly naughtier weekend.
Unfortunately... I've got one foot that is still in absolutely excruciating pain. I don't know whether it's the arthritis acting up or I've managed to injure it in some way. It's very swollen around my small toes and the ball of my foot, with a bit of pain in the ankle as well. I can manage to walk on it a little easier now that I've got my foot heavily strapped up... I suspect the problem may have been the walk I took around the streets a while back, it's been gradually getting worse ever since. We don't have a lot of footpaths in the area and those that we do have aren't all that great - they tend to slope towards the road - it's entirely possible that the stress from walking on non-level ground has buggered something in my foot which is now acting up badly with the arthritis and it just plain HURTS!
So... still no exercise for me for a while. Will have to be really strict with the diet if I want to go back to losing rather than simply maintaining my weight (I'd be ok if I can maintain, just don't want to gain!). I guess I'm here more as a cheer squad and moral support for now until my foot gets better. Krysalyss, we make a good pair sometimes!
