Hey ladies, I've decided to join this thread as I've started my own journey in trying to get rid of all this unwanted weight. I'm at the totally other end of the scales from you lovely ladies tipping in at 124.4kg last Monday, time for another weigh in tomorrow and I'm hoping for a loss.
The last time I stood on the scales (before Monday just been) was when little Oliver was 4 days old and I was 136kg so I must have been holding onto a lot of fluids. Since having him I've had a strong desire for water... now I'm a fizzy type of girl so it's been doing wonders, I actually prefer water (as long as it's icy cold) to most things.
My focus for the week just been is on eating at least 3 meals a day as I find when it's only me at home (with the kids) I don't worry about my own food and just worry about them. Next week it is walking, I've started a facebook group to encourage me and others to get up and out with a regular appointment at two different local lakes, again this is just a way of me trying to commit myself and be accountable for my choices to ensure I follow through.
I look forward to learning of others journey's and helping each other tackle all the comment problems that can arise when putting ourselves first.

Leesa!! You're soo keen to be wanting to get that ol' bike bum again! haha! Are you bfing your gorgeous girl? I always found bfing to be awesome when I was losing weight. Nice work on doing up the size 12's, sexy mumma on that shopping trip ;) Was it your first trip with the three?? When we decide to go back for a third, I know I'll dread shopping with all of them. Shopping with two is hard enough, let alone a wee one aswell. Yep, I've been drinking heaps of water to make sure that that it's hunger and not thirst. Alot of the time I"m finding it was actually thirst. But if it is hunger, I go for a couple of pieces of fruit. I love almonds too - so I'll have to get them with the groceries during the week. My hubby is much the same as yours - he has even quoted to me before that Hot Chips are good for you, because they're actually potato (vegetable). haha. In my dreams!
Welcome Danielle!! Great start on drinking more water. I'm affraid I'm a bit of a fizzy girl too. LOVE diet coke, its kind of like my relax time. Diet coke and bellybelly. Not good for us at all! Making sure I'm keeping up the water so far though. Well done on making the conscious decision to get on track to a healthier you, we all need to start somewhere :) My heaviest was 106kg, I find reading the "success stories" on the weight watchers website to be inspiring. Have a squizz if you ever need a pick me up :) And I'm sure I posted in your BA, but i love your bubby's name! Congratulations again x
Lilias - Cold weather and boredom are my arch enemies aswell. I'm and SUCH a boredom eater it is crazy. Trying to swap my boredom eating for a cup of water. Could you prepare some healthy freezer meals for when your DH is away? Lean mince can become shepard pie - and freezers SO well! Its a fav of mine when I get right into my weight watchers.
Well today has been a little bit naughty. I got a footlong subway, but only ate 7inches (if that). Which is good for me, I can easily eat a footlong, but decided to stop. I know subway isn't very ww friendly, but I figure something with lots of salad is better for my body than hot chips. Oh, and I also ate two cookies  BUT i am going for a walk this afternoon to make up for them. I love that we have a dog now, it kind of forces me to exercise, even when I just wanna curl up on the couch. I also downloaded that C25K from itunes. Has anyone used it before?? Not sure if I'm brave enough to give it a go just yet...
Hmm I'm forgetting who is our pregnant member?? JBM??? How are you going too?? Any loss? Are you "allowed" to lose?? I'm pretty clueless, so fill me in! :)

i am eating what is good for mw not so much what tastes good i am drinking 10 glasses of water each day i go for an hour walk every day plus prayer also just doing housework ( yes i do that lol) is a great form of exercise.
-
woohoo, i lost 400g without doing anything much, except not eating extras like chocolate and chips! i didn't think i ate it that much?? just goes to show what little changes can do! imagine if i was exercising a bit too, lol!!
-
Who here is breastfeeding? Without that many changes to my diet (had take aways at least 3 times this past week although I didn't upsize and didn't finish each meal) I lost 3kgs this past week. Slightly worried :-(
-
I am, 2-3hrly round the clock. DS2 is now 4mths old and I'm still pretty much the same weight I was a few months ago. DS1 was fully BF too, for 2yrs! I am still fat. Unfortunately I don't get the side effect of losing weight when I BF :( As long as you are eating enough calories, reasonably healthy foods and not going overboard with exercise, all should be well hun.
-
Danielle I am BF also and unfortunately its not helping with the weight loss. With my older children I also found it did not help me loose weight. If anything it makes me so hungry and I gain more. I find it easier to loose weight when I am not BF. Woow you certainly have lost heaps since your DS birth.
Lilias that is great to loose some weight with only making a few changes.
Well I have not lost anything. In actual fact I have gain 0.7kilos. I'm so disappointed. I feel I'll never get there. I could understand not loosing any but to gain that much is just heartbreaking. I feel like I am trying so hard and doing well with resisting temptation to no rewards. I know I am not exercising much but I am doing so much around the house (like splitting wood, even chopping out burrs with the hoe etc so hard work more then a walk would do) Oh well hopefully I can report some better news soon. I'm definately not going to get to my first goal by the end of June.

well done to those that lost weight this week hang in there if you had a bad week it is worth it
-
my naturopath said i shouldn't worry about my weight during preg as everyone is different and some of the weight is fluid. it's so hard not to worry though. i have been so so hungry for meat and potato and thats not good for my but. lol
chat soon to all

JBM I hope you can not worry to much. I was like you not wanting to gain much as I know how hard it is to loose but at the end of the day pregnancy is really a short time and you have plenty of time after bubs birth to loose it again if you do happen to gain more then desired. And here I am. 7weeks after birth trying to loose the remainder of the weight I gained. I'ce got 12kilos to go until I am at my pre-preg weight but realistically can safely loose much more then that. My weight range for my height is 61-78kilos. Its disappointing that I've never been a yummy mummy (you know those women who look fab pushing a pram) By the time I will be I'll be planning another or else my kids will be much older.
Well weigh in today and I've finally lost some weight. If I don't gain it back again I've got 3kilos to go to reach my first goal in my 5kilo increment. I must admit I've basically done NO exercise except cleaning the house more then I would. DH is away so I am finding it so much easier sticking to my diet when I don't have to cook for him. So FX next week I have an even better loose. So this week I need to drink more water and exercise more but I'll be sticking to the same foods. So I've lost 3kilos and I can't tell what so ever not that 3kilos is much but I think my cellulite isn't as bad lol. If anything I feel more wobbly and soft then I did before. I can't wait to see or feel real changes and I wonder how much I need to loose before I get a comment. DH hasn't noticed and he knows I am trying. I guess I'll have to loose 10kilos before anyone notices.
How is everyone else going?

I'm back!!!
Hello everyone :leap: I'm back! and it's great to see some old weight loss buddies including the lovely Belfie & Mr Squid and WOW haven't you lost some weight!!!
Before getting pregnant with DS I lost 8kg's in this thread in the pre christmas 12 week challenge and was feeling the best I had felt in years. Since having ds I have actively lost 8kg's on Jenny Craig but then couldn't afford it any more so haven't lost any weight since then (Feb I think) I'm thankful I haven't put any on though as I haven't exactly been 'good'.
So now I have 14kg's to loose to get to goal weight and 7kg to loose to get to pre pregnancy weight.
Mildez :hello: so great to be in a thread with you again! I have injured myself 2 weeks ago so won't be able to workout so I will need to be extra good with my diet. Cleaning the house extra is the perfect workout IMO! It's like killing 2 birds with the one stone :D
-
Cherished! Mwah! Lovely to see you again :). Your knee still causing you probs? So sorry to hear that, can you do some upper body stuff just to get your heartrate up a bit? I'm thinking some sort of arm-waving, boxing type exercise? (lol even as I write that it sounds rather silly).
Mildez - yay for losing some weight I'm so happy for you! I think that it seems like you have to get to a certain point for it to be visible. I was disappointed some friends didn't comment the other week, but then one of the same friends yesterday said oh the weight is just falling off you, you're losing it everywhere & look so different! I was stoked (as you can imagine!), so I guess I just hit that tipping point where it's more visible. Whether it takes 2, 3, 5 or 10 kg to get to that point, look forward to it - cos it's a lovely feeling!
JBM - I remember hearing someone else say that no matter what she did during preg, she always gained the same amount. I reckon if you just eat as healthily as you can, exercise suitably then it should help. I think eating well is great for you and bub, but equally sometimes in PG you just have to eat what you feel like too.
Danielle - wow that is a big loss. I'm BF'ing too. I must admit I haven't lost 3kg in one week, but I've had losses of 1.2 or 1.2kg... but it's usually followed by a week of very little loss and then I seem to even out. Also my bub is older (8mths now :o) and only feeds 4 times a day (and not overnight)... but I'm also expressing a bit & donating that which I imagine must help. Do you think you're eating enough? The only thing I'd be watching out for is that you're not restricting your food too much given you're still establishing your supply with your LO.
Tellytubby - I'm a DC girl too. I'm always trying to have less, but it's my big wicked vice . I can't believe your hubby said hot chips are good for you - naughty man! I've always had a weakness for hot chips too (wow, so many weaknesses ), but have really got out of the habit of having them which I think has helped. I agree reading success stories helps too.
Well I'm hoping for a bigger loss this week. Will go have a sneak peak at the scales after this (I'm expressing atm). I'm not letting myself buy any new clothes until I'm slimmer... and after a few PG's in so many years, I'm sooooo sick of my clothes. I am ITCHING to buy new clothes. I cannot WAIT to be skinnier & have some clothes that look good. My only bummer at present is I messaged a GF to find out her weight (she's a smidge taller than me and was looking FAB just before she fell PG - and some years ago we were very similiar in our weight & build... only I was actually buffer/hotter if I may say so myself ). Anyway it turns out her weight was 4kg less than what I'm aiming for. So now I'm not sure if I should adjust my goal down. But it would mean I've got 9.8kg to go instead of 5.8kg...... which really ain't tempting. So maybe I'll just still go for my original goal & see how I feel when I get there.
Happy healthy eating folks! I'm aiming for a 30 min walk today :)

Woohoo Cherished. Lovely to see you again and be in a thread with you. I miss seeing you around although obviously so thrilled we both got out of the 12month + thread. You and many others were a great comfort to me during some very dark days. And here we are trying to look like hotter mummies! It sounds like we have similar goals. My BMI is similar and I'd be happy with loosing 14kilos but right now I'm just desperately trying to get the scales into the 7's instead of the 8's. 3 kilos to go or 3.1 as 3 kilos would be 80 neat. I'm actually excited about this. Just praying for no more increases. I've had a few of those.
Belfie what day is your weigh in? Yeap express first. That might take of 50grams lol. Maybe get to your original goal and see how you feel when you get there. I would say I will want to loose more when I get to my goal weight of 71kilos (I was 61 when I met DH and stayed that way for years but I was thin and hardly ate anything) Right now 71 is still 12kilos away. I don't expect to get there this year. Maybe it can be my goal by J's first birthday.
Mr S thats a big loss in a week. How long have you been on your weight loss journey? My exercise since starting has only consisted of house work.
-
Mildez - i weigh in on Saturdays which I find oddly good. It's variously been Sun, Mon, Tues.. lol. but then DH wanted Sat. So I tend to be really motivated at the end of the week prior to weigh-in... and then I'm motivated after a good loss... or to make up for a bad one. And yes, I expressed 125ml this morning, every little bit helps hahaha.
This morning my scales are taunting me. Showed 600g loss, then when I stepped on again, dropped it to 400g loss. Fickle, fickle. Don't think I love them anymore!! (oh wait, that's right, I never did love those darn things!!). Would really, really, REALLY like a 800g loss this week :crossfingers: maybe I'll walk for longer today & tomorrow....
-
great to see you again cherished well done on your weight loss
mildez well done on your weight loss aswell
i am sick this week sux being sick when you are losing weight it stuffs things up a but oh well just keep soldering on
-
Mr Squidipa - it sux when you're sick, I agree that it makes things harder. Fingers crossed you have a better week next week.
AFM... 1kg loss! :leap::leap::leap:
I'm now officially over halfway (6.2kg lost and 4.8kg to go). I don't think I could be happier. I've lost 1cm of all my measurements this week, and overall so far 7cm off boobs, 8cm off waist (yay! that's my problem area) & 6cm off hips.
Hope everyone else is going well.
