 Heather, my DH was the same. And he thought it was "**** easy"... then he boxed with me. I had the BEST abdo workout because I was  so much! He couldn't remember the combo's, his technique was shocking and he didn't like me correcting him! Even though I explained we needed to have it right so no one got injured! He was also surprised by my skill ;) and what I've achieved in my PT sessions! He wasn't too worried about leaving me to finish my training session in the dark (lit area though) after boxing!
I'm on a little break. My arms are killing me and I have a head cold :( All I've wanted to do today is sleep - especially since I didn't have much sleep last night. The bed I slept in whilst away was AWESOME! But it made me realise just how bad my bed at home is... so we spent today trying to find a new base (we have slats)... seriously, by the end of the day I was almost in tears because of the ordeal! We couldn't find the right bed in the right price range. Several we liked we'd have to wait 6 or so weeks for delivery... one wasn't going to be delivered to the STORE until August!!! WAH! By the last store, I was seriously in tears. We finally agreed on a bed only to be told they didn't have it in stock! I seriously nearly cried! Then when she said another store had it (high delivery price) I was so happy... until I found out it wouldn't be delivered until the weekend at the earliest! NOOOOOO! I seriously couldn't sleep in the old bed any more! THEN, she said the manager there owed them big and would deliver it tonight! OMG! Seriously, tears rolled down my face!!! But we were doubting whether the bed would help or if we needed to replace the mattress as well... but it is here, set up, and it feels AWESOME! I am actually looking forward to bed tonight! Hopefully it helps with my back!
I have PT tomorrow... not looking forward to it with the cold...
MG - you rock! :leap: Although it's never a good idea to do exercise when you're sick :cold: - rest is the best thing for you now!
Heather - Zumba looks awesome! DH and I have considered getting the DVD's, so I'd love to hear what you think (if you end up going).
AFM - I went for a walk this morning and plan on doing so EVERY morning. Now that I've posted that, I'll HAVE to do it! Felt really good and set me up well for the day! :hooray:
Nettie: I found out at gym yesterday they are starting Zumba in June. They are training 3 instructors and will be holding the classes in the evenings and move to days if demand is high enough. I am really just curious as I can't dance for anything
MG: I did a Thump class once and my partner mentioned that she wouldn't want to meet me in a dark alley...I am small so that was very reasurring :) That same Thump class a friend had just separted from her cheating husband so she had a lot of anger, she nearly punched someone in the mouth she was trying so hard and in the zone to get out her frustration :o
I hope you are feeling better.
I did Combat yesterday, the instructor is really mixing it up with old and newish stuff. They are having a new release of on the 22nd May at the gym of a new Combat routine so she is taking the opportunity to throw anyting at us at the moment...loving it!
I didn't do Attack on Sunday, we went for a walk and I had a kick of the footy and soccer ball with DS1, so I got moving.
So back to Attack again on Sunday.
Wow 22 May, that's early! We're not releasing till the end of May thank god cause I haven't even looked at it yet! It's an awesome release - work on your balance and your side kicks ;)
Oh and if you guys do Pump then work on building your tolerence to lunges...that's all i'll say ;)
Nice to have someone in the know CQ....she did mention we would be 'tested' in the class if our balance was not good!
They are doing a big 1.5hr release of Combat, Pump and Step. It you go they want you to wear red.
9.2km today girls!! Only 1 stop at the half-way mark to stretch with the group. So close to the 10km, I can't wait for the fun run, I am soooooooo excited!!!! :cheer:
Go Winter!!!! You are awesome!!!!
Awesome Nettie!!!! Let me know how you go! It looks so much fun!
Heather - Good to hear you doing so well!!!!
As for me, I did a 30 min session last night on my treadmill. I did a trial jog for around 2 minutes. I was surprised at how easy it felt! I had a little discomfort on the left glute as I was running but that was eased with an adjustment in my posture. I wasn't tired easily nor did I get the leg pain. It was awesome! I only stopped because I didn't want to push too hard. I did feel it at the end though. After my session (including squats, plank, crunches etc) I had trouble bringing knees to chest on my back as well as bending. I took some digesic before bed and had an awesome sleep. This morning I was a little tender but ok. Throughout the day I've had some small issues but I am still a million times better than previously!!!! So excited! But I won't be doing it too often just yer... still building those muscles!
I did 22 mins (10km) of bike riding on the wii last night. My legs were slightly jelly-like when I finished, felt great. Also did some hula hoop and a bit of yoga at the end for stretching. I still want to go to the gym because I'm paying for it (though, not paying much). I think it's great though that some bright spark invented a video game machine that actually gets you off the couch and active...but I did eat a 1/4 family size block of Old Gold chocolate after I finished on the wii.
well done Dan!!!!! (i'm ignoring the choc part ;))
I'm on a late today. Normally I'd do a home session before work... but going out for farewell drinks tonight so not game enough to wear myself out! But I did do a mammoth stretching job this morning because I was a little sore overnight. Feeling better!
Congratulations Dan on ONLY eating 1/4 of the block! I would have woofed that baby down whole! 10km on the bike, mammoth effort! :cheer:
Enjoy drinkie-poos tonight MG! Sounds like fun!! :)
Where is everyone else? Hope they're all at the gym or running or walking and far too busy exercising to waste time on BB ;)
I did a 6km run around a lake this afternoon with some girls from my running group and I can highly recommend - NEVER EVER RUNNING WITH A PRAM!!!!! DD is 12kg, the pram is about the same, bloody heavy steel thing and a monster to push! I gritted my teeth though and did it non-stop in 40mins. The other girls took off in front of me but I didn't let them not being there stop me, I knew they'd wait for me at the end and I didn't want to be too far behind them. Its amazing what pride will push you to do! I'd never run with the pram before and I don't think I'll be doing it again if I can avoid it!
Anyway, do you girls find it amazing how quickly cardio fitness is aquired? I find muscle fitness takes so much longer. My muscles seem to hurt a long way before I run out of puff. Are you the same?
I'm still around, still walking that's about it.
Winter, I'll take you up on that offer of going running with me! Now that can be part of my goal - to be able to run 5km so I can go running with Winter :)
MG, I'm in Perth. I'm going to google pelvic instability and see what I find. I don't know if it's just coincidental but since it's become colder my pelvis has become quite sore again, back to the point where I have to get out of bed slowly and just sit for a minute before I stand up and take my weight, otherwise I feel like a cripple and have to grab onto something. It's really strange because once I am up moving around, I feel fine. It's just after I have been lying or sitting down for awhile, it's like everything relaxes and gets stuck?! And during the night as I often lay on my side as I feed/co-sleep with DD, my bottom hip (the one I'm lying on) is dead numb. I think it's time for more physio again.
Heather, playing with the kids is great fun. DS loves me chasing him around the backyard :)
Walking has been my only exercise and I walk wherever I can (to shops, playgroup, etc). Still aiming to go back to pilates as I really think this will help with my pelvis. So hoping to do that in the next few weeks. I have a DVD but I find I never do it. I'm more of a class person. If it's booked in then I am more likely to go and do it.
Can't wait Eluned! Will be great fun!
Winter: I find I get sore muscles for getting out of breath too. I can go through a Combat and Attack class and feel like I could then go for jog. Then I get sore muscles. I suppose it's good as in my body is getting the work out it needs.
MG: How are those niggles going?
I didn't go to Attack on Sunday, as we went out for the day. Lot's of walking and so on so that was ok. I wont make Combat on Wednesday as I am taking DS2 to see the Wiggles!!
I had a stiff thigh muscle yesterday, I am assuming it's from Combat as she had us doing lunges. So I really need to go and stretch it out with a good work out...
So it will be back to Attack again for me on Sunday.
Winter I also find the same. My muscles give out first. Work through it and you will be amazed how quickly it builds though!
Eluned I am finding the same with the colder weather. It is annoying because I'm trying so hard to avoid my meds. I'm thinking of getting myself some long singlets to wear to keep my back and hips warm. God I feel old!
Heather Enjoy the Wiggles!
Nothing from me. Did a walk last night which hurt my knee but I'm ok. PT tomorrow. Really nothing to report. Sorry. Bit boring really.
I went out Friday night as planned. Was an awesome night but a wee norty! I had a yummy ****tail but no idea what was in it other than lime! Then shared a bottle of wine with a friend. And some more ;) We got an attack of the guilts shortly before midnight and thought we should walk it off and sober up or we might get into trouble from our trainer! So off we stumbled down Smith Street looking for something to sober us up! we had a kebab... and boy did I regret it Saturday! It was an awesome night though.Even if I DID feel a wee ill Sautryday! ROFL
I'm joining in finally - I have been on the fitness bandwagon for about 8+ weeks now and totally into it. Going to gym at least 3 times a week, one of those PT session which I am so glad I did. Initially I didn't lose weight - if anything put on a kilo or two :-/ But now its gone back down so that was a little demotivational, but I can only think its muscle? Because my body has changed: more tone and is looking different, and I am feeling more awesome than ever. More energy (still a little low due to very low iron - at 7!) but working on that too with my naturopath. So many positives. Look forward to going all the time!
