I want to lose weight.. AGAIN

I have done it before but why cant I do it again?

I lost 30odd kilos a few years back but now I just cant seem to do it.. well I did lose close to 14kilos a few months back but of late half of that has come back on...

I just cant eat anything that is not sweet.. all my body craves for is sweet food and that is what I will eat...

Maybe it has alot to do with the fact that I have Depression ....

This is really annoying me as I know I can do it when in the right frame of mind!!

I can relate - its definitely an ongoing battle here.

I made my own diet plan up - and am having a break from it today - so far I have lost 5kgs and we made a rule that saturdays can be a whatever day if I feel like it.
And damn it, i feel like it!!!!

Don't be too strict on yourself, otherwise its hard to stick to it.

at the moment, I'm going thru the same thing... I'm craving sweets, but it's not all I eat. But if I feel like sweets thats what I'll go and find.

I lost 10kg a few years ago and 8kg this year... I have about 12 more to go... Is there a group we can join for motivation?

Similar situation here. Lost 21+ kilos before falling pregnant and put most of it back on. Starting now to try and lose it slowly, but due to breastfeeding I can't be as hard as I would like to be. Plus before kids I could find time to exercise, now I struggle. Finding I am doing a lot of comfort/easy eating, which is just not good for me.

I can relate too. I lost 40kgs a few years ago, put part of it back on when dh and I got together (spent too many nights cuddling on the lounge eating juck food) and the rest went back on when I had ds. I looking at photos taken just 2 years ago and I looked great. Now I look the size of a house.

WW - make sure you see your GP and get your thyroid function checked - an underactive thyroid can explain both weight gain AND depression. I'm getting mine checked this week too.

It's difficult to stop those sugar cravings - unfortunately the more you eat the more your body wants. It takes about 2 weeks to rid yourself of the craving. I think when we are tired (and who isn't with little ones) it makes it more difficult. I have always been able to eat what I wanted until the last few years - I too think it was being really down with all of the loss that I endured...

A couple of months ago I decided that I wanted to wear nice clothes again - to go swimming with my kids - and not be a bystander because I felt too overweight.
I got up to a size 16 with Imogen and I have lost a dress size so far. I red the Atkins New Revolution (2000 edition) and it seemed to make sense. I am never ever hungry and after the first week I didnt crave sweets. I have so much more energy and I feel great. People are only just starting to say those magic words (you've lost weight!) - the more I have lost the more dedicated I have become. People think that it's all about bacon and eggs but it is far from it. I eat eggs for breaky usually with some mushrooms and parsley - sometimes with bacon. For lunch I have ham/chicken with sprouts, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and feta cheese. For dinner I have a meat with salad or veges. I literally now have to force myself to eat - and I am not even tempted to have a piece of cheesecake (my achilles heel!) when I go out with friends. I eat diet jelly sometimes and Coles sell an Atkins bar that you can have for a treat. Its a really manageable way for me to lose. AND it cuts that sugar need. A couple of weeks ago I began eating low carb lollies/chocolate now and then and it stalled my weight loss so I am back on the pure food now.

Anyway it might be worth a try if those sugar cravings are out of control. There is also a website that you can access help on.
