I have been on jenny craig. the problem is the cost. Its between 95-120 each week for food per person, then yuu still have to buy all your breads, milk, cheese, fruit, veg and things like that. Dp and i gave it a go (dp had like 3 kg to loose pfft!) and we were spending $550-600 just on food per fortnight (inc the jenny food and our fresh stuff)

If you add to that the fact that the programs seem to be designed to make weight loss quite slow and you really eat so much... even more than i could fit it and i must be a big eater cos im quite fat!

I think your better off on something like weight watchers where you might have to pay the program fees (as you do also with jenny craig) but at least your sepnding on food will be normal and you wont need to get seperate food for you and your family....

I tried it several years ago now and I HATED the food and found it really exspensive for what it was. I am sure the menu has changed a bit since I did it, but I ampretty sure it is still exspensive. It may be worth comparing the cost of that to something like Lite N Easy.

As for not living near one, I remember having to go for weekly weigh ins and to pick up the next weeks food, I am not sure if you could go less often

Rach - do you get the ads with a lady called Naomi on them? I went to school with her and she works at my hairdresser's. She was just telling me the other day how much she has enjoyed it, and she is looking awesome!!!!

I did JC and loved it. at the time, it was just me and yes, i prob was spending around $130 a week on it.
I never got hungry, after the first 2 weeks and pretty much lost all of my cravings for junk food. I lost about 1kg a week, which sounds like not much, but the weeks flew. I needed to loose around 15kg.
My only regret is that I quit when I met DP, was too hard to eat separatly and we were in that party/brunches/ eat out phase of a new relationship.
I have put some of the weight back on and do believe it was due to not following the program thru. They say I takes up to a year to reprogram your brain.
It was expensive but worth it and 3 of my other friends joined after seeing me. None had as much success as me tho. But I was pretty dedicated.
The one thing that I will be eternally grateful for, was that they switched me from hardcore beer drinker to vodka and soda with a twist of fresh lemon (never cordial)
My hangovers 1/2 immediatly (all the water) and 1/2 the price. Not to mention the embarrasment of rubbish day when it sounded like a clean out at the local brewery
Go for it, It will work but so will most of these programs if you commit to them.

I just wrote a reply and lost it! Grrr.
Rach, perhaps you could look into Cohens (if you haven't already)
I absolutely love it! I started last year but had to stop due to being pregnant. In the 5ish weeks I was on Cohens, I lost over 20kgs. Amazing. All I did was eat food that is in my everyday life... no pills or shakes or anything like that!
I am about to restart with a whole new plan in the next couple of days. The cost of Cohens is around $700, then it is just the cost of your food, which is everyday food anyway (meat, vegies, fruit, cheeses, yogurt etc)
Sassy123 is another cohenite you could chat to... she has had great results. Your DH could follow your plan along with you and he would benefit without the worry of you having to pay for 2 plans. My Mum has loosly followed my previous plan, and has also had great results. Feel free to PM me anytime if you want more info.
