When I get a chance I will come in and answer any questions anyone has. I'm just flat out at the moment.
I'm not doing this round due to injury and can't really afford it, but am hoping to hop back on next round. :)

Well I've just joined up, and have completed the preseason tasks that are available so far.
So exciting but nerve-wrecking at the same time!!! :whip: lol
Gem - I had no idea you were doing this! Actually, I didn't even know there was a group on BB for it!
Hi everyone. I signed up to this round last night. It is so exciting!
I've done the first 4 pre season tasks and am really loving the challenge to my mindset. I am really determined this time as I'm shocking at starting things and not finishing! I am hoping to loose 10kgs, which will be a good start for me :D I have bought new shoes, but I needed them, last ones where about a year old. Haven't looked into a heart rate monitor yet, but will be aiming for a walk as often as I can with some videos for the moments when the Melbourne weather is to crappy!
I bought a heart rate monitor from eBay for $48. I am hoping that it will be okay.
This post was brought to you by Lisa's iPhone. Keeping Lisa sane since 2011.
YAY LISA!! :D :D I'm so much more excited now that youre doing it! I want to try recruit one more person so I can win that watch... Hmm... Lol
There's a FB page??
EDIT - hmm scratch that, I didnt read that properly! Lol tired eyes!

Sorry dragoncookie, I didn't even see your post!!
I'm aiming to lost 20kg this round, whether thats doable is another story, but I want an absolute minimum of 12kg gone!
I love the preseason tasks too! Really makes you think! I just want it to start already! Lol

if anyone has / had 30+ to lose look for the 12wbt 30 plus crew group on fb.
They are such a supportive bunch, love them!
Hope Im aiming for 20kg this round as well. I figure if I have 56 to lose, and they say the beginning is a kickstart I may as well aim high before the inevitable plateau ;)
I'm struggling with a bit of the counting as tonight for 'treat' night we had a roast dinner. Now, obviously I cant weigh my portion of lamb leg before its cooked. So then im not sure if what i select at the end is accurate. Anyway. Smashed 760 calories in 1hr15m tonight. If I had not left it so late I would have kept going until I hit the thousand but didn't start until 10pm as it was. I'm exhausted and desperate for a food replenishment but no bananas in the house and really not up for a protein shake.
Alright need to crash. Look forward to chatting with all of you :)
I went and finished the first four pre-season tasks last night. Went through them with DH so he knows what I'm doing and can be supportive. My big one was the first one, I'm fantastic at excuses, and I haven't been owning it, acknowledging that I'm the cause of my weight gain and I'm the only one who can change it and make a difference.
It's got me excited! I have around 22kgs to lose to get to my ideal weight, but I'm aiming for 10 this round. I don't know if breastfeeding will affect it (I don't think so) but I think that's a good start and more achievable - I'm certainly happy to beat it too!

Well done Kaytee. I used to use excuses too. I am more than willing to own this this time and be a success story, not another excuse.
Dragoncookie - I am soooooo definitely a part of that group. I have been having a look around and introducing myself on the forums here & there.
Is anyone else on the forums yet? I am littlemonalisa on there :)
I've replied to one or two posts on the forums, I'm still getting used to how they work and where I fit - I'm so used to the BB style! My user name is Teeki.
I just today noticed the mini challenges too, so I'm going to start those this week :)
Reckon I'll get a HRM from ebay too, I found a pretty good Pulse one that I like that's sooo much cheaper than Polar!

Im the same on the forums . I havent posted a lot as on BB I use 'new posts' and on there new posts is every single post not the threads listed so i find it a bit confusing.
How are you going setting goals? I struggled, I found setting goals hard and have come back and added and changed things a few times.
Hey guys, I'm thinking of joining. How is it? I'm good with excuses and wonder how I'll go if I don't have someone to force me iykwim? I really struggle with motivation etc. I'm trying to decide if it's for me or not.

So far, I am loving it. I don't know how to explain it, but something in me has clicked. I am starting tomorrow. I am just doing the warm up challenges as best as possible until the starting date.
Not sure about where you are Loulabelle but here in Newcastle there is an awesomely supportive 12WBT group on FB that have arranged walks and a meet & greet date which I will be attending. I am nervous & excited all at once but I know that the more people I meet, the more people there will be to keep me accountable and on track, if that makes sense?
Just as an aside; breastfeeding women get an extra 500cals a day so you should be safe with supply in that regard. I don't use my extra 500cals and don't notice the difference in my supply. We are on solids but she is still a ravenous boobie girl and probably feeds more now than she did six weeks ago.
Look for 'The Perth Crew' on FB or even if you find a photo of the Perth Crew on the 12WBT page ask if they can link so you can join.
Like Lisa, I started doing it and it was like something clicked.
It's broken down into small tasks and it doesn't seem so overwhelming. The warm up challenges included small steps like "halve your non-water intake". Then the pre-season tasks ask you to look at why you're failing, what you want and how you can achieve it. I am loving it. For years I have totally disses weight loss programs (and especially WW current program where a banana has "0 points" and you can have as much fruit and vege as you want. NO, a banana has ~80 cals) but I like that it teaches you to "know" your food.
I never wanted to be a calorie counter but it's only been a week and a half since i really started doing it and i can see the benefits already. They're habits I could have done myself but I was really failing at. I'm excited about the fact that I can see it working (have lost 6kg in a few weeks). I guess the thing about it is that you get out of it what you put in. Im also lucky enough that at the time I signed up I had the 'luxury' of being able to say, you know what it's $200 - if it doesn't work its not that much. If it does it's a small price to pay for everything I will gain. For some people $200 is a fair was of money but I can tell you in two weeks id have saved that on lunches, junk food and take away dinners already.
If anyone is considering it - I say NOW give yourself the last two weeks of pre-season to prepare because you will have more chance of success.
Hi ladies,
sorry i havent replied much. i hate replying on my phone! lol!
I've been finding the forums super hard too, im so used to BB, and this is the first forum i've used! lol! nonetheless, my username is xxhopexx if anyone is interested :)
since i've signed up ive lost another 1.5cm off my waist, and another 1kg! super happy! i'm only 0.5kg off my first goal weight of being under 100kg!
This my first time doing Michelle's program, and even though the round hasn't actually started yet, I'm loving it! I'm similar to you Lulu in that I can come up with any excuse under the sun and make it a perfectly valid reason for why I've eaten poorly/not exercised/generally gained weight. I was laying blame everywhere but where it belonged - with me.
The latest pre-season task was good - making a commitment. I've gone through my excuses and goals with DH, I'm now accountable to him to see this through. Previously I'd think "I want to eat better, exercise more and lose weight" but if I fell off the wagon it didn't matter because no one cared. Not even me really.
But now I have encouragement and support from DH and Michelle through the site which I really like. I just pretend she's doing her little speeches directly to me and it motivates me to do better. I'm also holding myself accountable to DD. I want so much better for her, but how can I expect her to eat right and be healthy as she grows up if she has a crappy role model?
I'm really keen to get the meal plans because our dinners are boring and not always healthy. I'd love new healthy ideas for all our meals.
I've started today with the warm up challenges and just getting my mind right. I feel great! I'm tracking my food and exercise on a phone app, drinking loads more water, and blocking out my lunch break in my work calendar so I can go for a 30 minute walk each day.
I guess I could have done these things on my own and without the cost, but I feel like this makes it so easy and exciting, it's all laid out for me and there's constant motivation. So yeah, if you're seriously considering it, I say get on it!

Todays task made me cry. When she said something along the lines of "If you think this is a waste of food, I'll tell you what waste is. It is putting your life on hold by having these habits and being over weight for the last 10/20/30 years of your life"
THIS IS ME! :( and what she said about what we feed our kids... wow. I have done diets. Some I have failed, some I have succeeded (somewhat) with. None of them have ever hit home as hard as Michelle has so far.
Sounds like an emotional one, hugs Lisa
I watch the videos on the tablet with earphones in while feeding DD to sleep, so I'm gonna have to hold back the crying so I don't wake her I think!

Thanks hun. I think it was more when she said something like how we're setting our kids up for habits like ours etc etc. I would hate to think of one of my kids being as overweight as what I am. It is funny, you spend so much time making sure they eat good, balanced meals everyday and leave yourself til last for so long. When I was a single mum, my kids would sit down and eat awesome home made stir fries that were loaded up with so many different vegetables etc and I would eat weetbix as my budget only stretched as far as providing nutritional meals for my kids. No more! Things have changed and I don't have to eat like that anymore and do eat what my kids do but I have also realised that I need to consider myself as well as my kids. I need to be healthy for myself AND them ;)
That's what hit me Lisa. I don't want to be a bad role model for my kids. No one else teaches them food habits but me and DH. I was so sad that already I can see ways I've failed DS1. I really need to take control of his diet and limit the cr@p that goes into his mouth.
Hey ladies! I just have a question, unfortunately I cant afford to do this round but I am seriously thinking about doing the next one. But does anyone know, can you do it if you dont want to necessarily lose weight? I dont have weight to lose, but I really desperately need to get my diet under control as I dont eat very well. And I really need to get fit & generally healthy again. Reckon this could help with that? I know the average calories are restricted to 1200, more if your bf, but does it allow you to eat more so you dont lose weight?
Just thought I'd ask here as I couldnt think of anywhere else to lol.
best of luck to everyone doing this round!! xxx
You can certainly do it if you're not wanting to lose weight, but want to tone up etc. There are 3 (at least) different programs that run through the 12wbt.
Shan - Definitely hun! Not everyone's goals are weight loss. Some have fitness levels etc that they want to achieve. :)
My treadmill arrives tomorrow! YAY! I am hoping if I can get the 30kms down before the official start date.
Ok I signed up this morning. I'm back for my 3rd round. I'm aiming for 20kgs lost and I KNOW I can do it. It starts TODAY!!
By the way, I'm NickyJam on the forums if you happen to stumble across me. :)
Hi ladies!
*hug* lisa, that last task seems like it was really tough on you.
shan - you definitely can do it just to tone up and get fit, they have different reasons for joining the program, and i assume that they'd cater the meal plans and exercise regimes as such :)
nidalla - ill keep an eye out for you! :)
AFM, i'v done 13.5km since monday! yay! and 10km of that was on monday! lol. I've had to succumb to putting DD in the creche at the gym occasionally because DH works, and i need to get my exercise done! she let me have 50 mins last night before we had to go home! thats the first time she's been with someone else thats not family! fingers crossed she will only get better so it makes this easy! lol
Should we create at 12WBT round 2 thread seeing as we're days away from starting? :) or just stick with the round 1?
I am going to struggle with the 30 km in a week warm up task. Oh dear. Sooo, I have my treadmill (yay!) but my back & pelvis are completely destroyed from 6 pregnancies. I am STRUGGLING at 200 mtrs. Waaaaaah. I figure that I will get there eventually but I am not going to go crazy. If I can get to 10kms, I will be so happy.

SO where do I find the warm up tasks? I can't find them at all on my page.
Lisa is it that the back and pelvis are sore? Or is it more it's difficult to walk or?
I actually found when I first started my treadmill mission that it was sooooo hard to walk fitness wise and it seemed so hard for my body in general!
Make sure you do a quick leg warmup (stretches) and try to walk at a decent (not too slow, not too fast, I find usually between 5kmh-6kmh is a good speed, obviously as we get fitter we can walk faster for longer :) maybe try my mission, to ultimately do 2km in 15mins? I started not being able to finish in 25mins, and 2.5mos later I was at 15! It's amazing how fast your cardiovascular fitness can increase with persistence and determination :)

Gem - nope, it is that my back starts to absolutely kill me after about 3 mins at 3.5. I'm just planning to do more sessions until my back & pelvis get used to it. I suffered terribly from SPD when pregnant with Noah, then 10 times worse with DS2. This is a massive reason why I am the weight I am today as my back & pelvis are just so bad, but now the extra weight doesn't help - vicious cycle. Urgh. I'm preserving though. As Michelle says, if you can't exercise make sure your diet is really clean. I'll just have to be extra vigilant with my diet until my body catches up.

Ahh bummer Lisa :( is there any way you can go swimming or do aquarobics of some sort? Even if it's only once a week, its still exercise! :)

I'm not sure if the warm up tasks were just for those days/weeks before the start of preseason. I think people could sign up earlier than they have been able to before. Weren't they things like drinking more water? I've never seen them mentioned before this round though so not sure.
AFM I just wanted to come in and let you girls know that this program works. I've officially lost 40kgs in 2 rounds of the 12wbt and I'm back to lose the last 38kgs and hoping to do that this year. I'm pretty happy to have gotten as far as I have in such a short time the healthy way, but I honestly don't feel 40kgs lighter until I see pics. It will come with time and they say your head takes a while to catch up.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that any weight loss goal you might have. You just have to put your mind to it.
Looking forward to seeing how you all go this round.
I've been reading your blog for weeks and only just put two and two together that you are Niadalla :)
It's always great to hear from more people who have had success with the program.
The warm up tasks were to keep people interested prior to pre-season i think (for those doing the first round).
There was; change one diet an exercise habitl, halve your non water intake, 'do' 30kms in a week, diarise your food intake daily for a week, write yourself a meal schedule.
FWIW I didn't do any of them only started when pre-season did and am doing ok.
I really am missing my chocolate. More than anything. Soft drinks and other crap was easy, i do feel the lack of milk a bit but mostly okay, chocolate is a mjor temptation for me but as i keep telling myslef, chocolate will never taste as good as skinny feels. I am doing my inspiration boards tonight but so tired. Did my first 1000cals yesterday and today have spent all day on ym feet with housework, so im so exhausted. Can't wait to do my first official weigh in on wednesday and get the week 1 plan on thursday and kick off. I am feeling so positive.
I am starting to drop things today. I haven't really started yet. I have now decided to just start!. Get my but into gear and committ! My biggest issue will be giving up coffee I think. Especially at work. I really need to stop driking instant cause that's when I need sugar in my coffee. At least when I have one at home it's got no sugar. Anyway, I'm going to try and cut back rather than completely cut it out. I don't think I can live without my coffee ;)
Dragon Cookie - I had BIG chocolate withdrawals my first round. I suggest trying Jarrah hot chocolates. Make them up with just water. They are very low calorie and the occasional one seems to curb my cravings for chocolate. I know the first few I had really didn't taste all that nice, but as my taste buds changed the hot chocolates really hit the spot. There are also protein bars that may be of help. (and thanks for reading my blog! :))
I've been drinking nearly 3 litres of water for the last few days and as a result I slept really well last night (once I got to sleep). I'm going to start back walking again this week (I've been off due to an overuse injury) and hopefully in about 3 weeks I can get back into netball. I miss my exercise!!
Really determined to do well this round. I know I'll have to occasional slip up but if I can keep those under control and just continue along the clean eating path, they shouldn't be too much of an issue.
