My ten reasons are on my blog here
Thats fast Yael. I do about 4 in 25 minutes at the gym!
Yael - thats great!! I dont think I can do that much. The most I do on the cross trainer is 10mins!
I took my female dog out for a run today and I nearly died!! I came back as red as a tomato and when I was putting my dog back in the backyard, she nearly got out again cause she wanted to go for another run! She is soo crazy. All she wants to do now is RUN. I wish I never started running with her LOL But atleast someone is pushing me, she's like a personal trainer :) I then went to RPM tonight. That was good!!
Any way, I must go. I am doing my dive course this weekend and I have a huge challenge there... a HuGE swim in the pool, maybe like 500m. I am such a week swimmer.
well done Yael:clap:
Well done Yael... I can only do 15 mins on the x trainer at the most LOL...
I felt soooo good when I got home from work yesterday, I ate healthy all day and I power walked home from the bus stop (I got off 2 stops early). But then disaster struck!
I went to bed last night, sick as a dog. The boys (my DH & DSS) decided that KFC was what they were making for dinner, I had a wrap and 2 popcorn chicken bits and the fat/oil (I think they cook in canola and I'm canola intolerant) in them sent my body into shut down mode, I was clammy all over, shaking, dizzy etc, so I crawled into bed after drinking a 1.25l bottle of water. I've been awake on and off since they woke up to go fishing at 4am (they left at 5:45 as they were fixing fishing rods etc), so at 6am I decided to get up. I'm now drinking a protein shake with a banana in it, I don't want to tax my body too much yet, may have a more substantial breakfast when I get to work.
Hey Everyone I thought I would join in the challenge as well. I've been reading the posts for a couple of days and finally decided to post. I'm looking at losing at least 20kg and I really want to lose most of that before 6th of March which is my Brothers wedding. Has anyone got any tips for me lol. I've changed a few things in my diet from looking at blood type diets and have started exercising again using my exercise bike, dancing and doing some crunches and things.Any advice would really be appreciated.
OMG Yael that is fantastic! I generally only do 10 minutes running on the walker as well. But I always do a fast walk on an incline as well. But I never reach 10kms in 30 minutes! WTG girl!!
Ngala you brave girl doing RPM. I've never done it before... it scares the bejesus out of me!!!
Not going to the gym till later today. Have my parents coming over first so I better go and have breakfast before they get here!
Lea - Yeh I know that RPM scares a few people but it really is a good class to do!! They say if you go to your full potential you will burn 700 calories in the 45 mins. I normally say to people to just give it a few goes and see how you go, you could surprise yourself!
Hey Tyige!! I lost about 20kg in 5 months ( I was told to stop or I wouldnt fit in my wedding dress!), but I guess 8 of that was lost within 2 weeks after I birthed my daugther. I did that by totally changing my diet and also going to the gym about 7 times a week, plus I went for walks with my dogs. Some people think that that was really extreme but it worked for me and I felt so good while I was doing it. So you have just got to work out what is best for you. If you do have the time (I see you have two kids) and there is a fitness center near you, maybe give it a go. Another thing I did was cut out about half of my carbs intake a day, I have most my carbs for dinner. Some people say not to have carbs at dinner but I didnt know what to cook that didnt have carbs, but I do go to classes most evenings after dinner. But I think the main thing is, if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything!
I dont know if anyone is interested, but I got this thing off my friend a few months ago, I've never tried it but its meant to work! Its called '8 minutes in the Morning to Lean Hips and Thin Thighs'. It says that if you follow it, you can lose up to 4 inches in 4 weeks and its all stuff that you can do at home. If any one is interested, I could scan all the cards in and email it through to you? I havent done it, I started but gave up quickly but this was when my DD was only a few weeks old, but my friend did it for a little while and she said she could see some difference!
I've been for my walk and run this morning already and about to hit the gym! LOL I think everyone on here will soon realise that I dont stop for a minute, thats what my Baby Buddies think! :)
Go Yael!
Schaz, hope you are feeling better soon hun!
Ngala you sound like the rocket I need. I'll give them a go if you feel like scanning them, i'll send you my email. Don't worry if it's too hard though.
Tyige I lost 20kg in a couple of months to go to the police accademy. Yes I was childless at the time, but it can be done. I found exercise to be the key. There is a couch to 5km challenge on the boards some where. I did something sililar at the time (and would do it now if it wasn't over 35 every day) and found it really beneficial. Good luck.
20kgs in a couple of months eh? That sounds like a dream for me.
Ngala i'd be interested in that too sounds alright i'm willing to adopt a lot of diffenrent things to get me to goal my email is in my options thingy ta
Cool Ladies!! I've just gotten back from the gym. I will feed DD and have some lunch myself and then I will scan it all in and email you ladies :)
I'd be interested in that too nglala :)
Ngala.. I am another that is interested...
My Email addy is
michelleandjeff@xtra.co.nz
Thanks muchly :)
I'd be interested too, Kim can you send me it when you have it to save Ngala time? (if thats OK)
Alrighty... I have got it all scanned and put in to a document the only problem is, the document is 7MB! Didnt realise it was going to be such a big document.
I'll send it through now.. Let me know if you havent received it in about an hour from when I sent it. If you hadnt receieved it, will need to try something else..
Thanks for all the encourgament guys - it really motivated me to try and see if i can do it again tonight! I need the encourgament to keep going.
Ngala - i would love to see it also - yael@bellybelly.com.au
Also, has anyone tried those exercise machine things they have in Target/Kmart etc? I saw one called 'leg magic', that is supposed to work yours legs, butt & stomach. What about those sit up machine things - do they work??
A lot of the 'sit up machines' are really bad for your back. My PT wont use or recommend any of them for this reason.
I have sent an email through to Kim, mrsmac, shazz, yael, mitch, rayray. If you dont get it within an hour, let me know and I'll try something else :)
Just wanted to say that I think all you girls who are out there exercising in all your different ways that you are going great and to keep it up!
I am really lazy I think  and don't make time to exercise at all. I don't really like gyms and find RPM or aerobics classes pure torture! (I would rather cut off my own hand LOL!). I don't mind walking but usually put it off until tomorrow.....as such I have to rely on impulse control around food and controling what I put in my gob to lose weight.
I am filled with admiration for all of you girls for your motivation.
Schaz - I hope you had a better day today - sounds like it was very ordinary. Hope you only went to work if you felt ok?
Tyige - I think if you are exercising as well as doing the diet side of it you'll get there for sure. Just be consistent and don't give up!
Hi girls! I haven't been on BB during the day only night time and don't often get the chance to catch up on this thread but I will just post quickly to say that I forgot to weigh myself today!! agh! I weigh myself every Weds and i forgot! bit tired.... anyway, i will tomorrow to see if i've moved any weight this week! I think i have lost 2kgs anyway.... mainly fluid retention probably as i feel less bloated in my stomach for sure.
I haven't been exercsing since my 20km bike ride on Sunday as i've had really bad lower back pain (due to being overweight i think) and working 11hrs a day at the moment and it really takes it out of me. Besides, i do walk alot around work and carry and lift items all day so i do get my exercise thru work anyway.... i don't sit down much. I have been eating good, healthy meals and not eating any rubbish so very happy with the food side of things!
Sounds like you are all doing wonderfully, keep up the great work girls!!!!! We should all be very proud of ourselves with our efforts, and take it one day at a time otherwise it can get too overwhelming :)
I got the email OK ngala :)
thanks!
I got it too ngala! I've printed it off and going to start tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. Interesting the food bit. I've always tried to have my plate like that...guess it's just a diffeent spin.
Talking about exercise. It's like a thousand degrees out here in the middle of nowhere. We got a sunshower this arvie and after taking my sick little girl out to play in the rain for a bit, I thought I'd seize the chance when it stopped to walk in some cooler weather.
SO I was off on my powerwalk. 25mins in and it starts to POUR. Luckily I had the pram cover, but I got soaked to the skin lol. I didn't even care. It was quite fun. Made me walk a bit faster too hehe.
Ren don't feel bad 12 hour days will do that to you. It's all about balance remember so as long as the food going in is good, then you should be right. Look forward to your result tomorrow hun.
GO YAEL GO YAEL GO YAEL (hope you got this before you got on your machine tonight ;) ).
Ngala I would love a copy of that email! I'm always looking for extra stuff to do. My email is lea13@bellybelly.com.au . They do say that RPM are fantastic classes. I have a friend joining the gym soon so perhaps I'll be game enough to try it with her. I did 10 minutes on the bike the other day and it killed me lol. I think our RPM classes are 60 mins!
Yael OMG I have even more admiration for you now. I ran for 10 minutes at a speed of 9 and then walked for 5 mins at 5 and only just made to 2.5 kms. So you must have been going hammer and tong to do that well! I am impressed. I want a spare half an hour to see if I can beat you now :p
Kaz76 You are doing really well and you will get there!
Tyige I think its definately doable! Have you broken the weight up into mini goals you want to lose by March. That might make it easier and keep you motivated!
I went for a half an hour power walk tonight - can that count as 2 15 min ones lol? Will try and fit the others in soon. I am running out of time though! Not feeling as though I did much today. All that lazing around the house I did....
Cool!! I hope the other ladies received it too :)
Lea - I have sent it through to you as well. I must admit then when I do my RPM classes I wait until the very last circuit and then I give it my best. I tried to not to it like that last night but I did. I'll try harder next time.
I was meant to go and do the bodypump class tonight but I have had a rotten day with DD (I think she is teething) plus it took DH soo long to get off his butt and go to the shops to get some stuff for dinner. Oh and I also have to keep studying for my dive ticket. LOL Well they are my excuses :P
Hello today ladies!
Well after stuffing my back on Monday arvo, I saw the chiro yesterday and still can barely walk, let alone around these hills. Seeing the chiro again tomorrow. *Sighs*
Thanks guys for the encourgament whilst i get back into this exercising thing! It's so hard, it has been 11 months since i have done this!
Anyway, i knew i didn't have a full 30 mins to exercise as i was going out with a friend for dinner (i think the first time since i had the baby, so i really needed it), and i obviously had the have a shower cos i would have stunk, so normally i would just say, 'nah, can't do it, don't have time', but instead i thought it doesn't have to be all or nothing, so i got on for 15 mins, and made myself do 5.1km (almost half of what i did last night.. it was hard cos my muscles were sore).
I'm just very proud i actually did something rather than nothing (of course, eating chips with dinner probably reversed all my good work).
Let's see if i can do 3 nights in a row!
Good luck everyone :)

There is an orange card on the cover of the "Womens Health magazine"
I've registered for this... as there is a SIL at the park just near my home. I've been thinking about doing it prior to this offer. They do Cardio, toning, Fitball or Kickboxing sessions...
Well I didnt get any exercise in yesterday & Im gutted... probably cause we got a new kitten yesterday & I was trying to get him settled LOL... & Keep Alexa from terrorising him!!!
Will be walking at lunchtime today & doing my best to get on the bike tonight... I have told DH that I HAVE to get on the bike tonight!!!!
I had a shocker yesterday.....we have freinds from Darwin staying (hence I have not been around much!) and they are all LEAN but they all EAT HEAPS!
I feel like I have been cooking for an army FFS.
And no excersise yesterday as I had no time.
And I was so unfoicused I ended up having a bloody bread roll (not allowed on KM). And I was so ****ed off at myself I then had an handful of toffees. AND a glass of wine.
I know it is only a temporary glitch, but I am MAD at myself.
Love having friends to stay, but it is so hard...........
Ther is a step into life at the park across the road from my house. I have never been though as I could never find a time that was suitable. Imight have a look online though.
I am doing a class today, not sure the trainers at work have changed the timetable around a bit for the next fortnight so it will be potluck what class I get!
drats, not a class anywhere near me!
But maybe when I get back to work, there'll be one near there then.
I find that when I start getting fit, my body doesn't want junky food, so I'm concentrating on starting to get my body fitter, and then the food sorta works itself out, if you know what I mean?
Sooo tempted to weigh myself today, but holding strong. Just about to walk down the hill to the shops to get some $$$ out for the mower man, and the milko, and transfer to someone else.
I don't have kids so I really admire you girls. Right now I have a 5kg furbaby needing serious cuddles so am typing one handed - really slowly. smething most of you probably do really well.
Ngala, can I have the exercises please - thb@bigpond.com - are you using miscrosoft software? If so, you can 'print' to microsoft office document image writer and that makes it like a PDF and much smaller in size......I can handle 7 meg though so send the 7 meg one to me
I am a callanetics instructor which is the fastest toning exercises I have ever found and tones me seriously fast. I teach 2 classes a week at home and it is all I need for toning but am always looking for what else is out there.....I just need to get of my butt and go running!!!
Too much alcohol this week for me. It really slows my weighloss - I have been meeting with all my friends - typical New Year catchups and I only have one drink each time but even that is too much for me with regards to weightloss. Gotta stop it.
Thank-you for the replies. I'm trying to cut out carbs. I am also trying to eat as many veges as I can. Lol. A bit hard when the house is still full of chocolate. I have set up a few mini goals to get me to where I want to be now All I have to do is knuckle down and get to work.
Argh that's it hey? Over the past month or so I have eradicated all bad foods from my house! Makes it much easier when you start to crave bad foods or you're in a rush - then they're just no there to grab!
Feeling great today. My workout must have done something today because I'm nice and sore even though I lifted less. I have done my gym class earlier this morning before the heat and am feeling great.
Need to check out those exercises to do each day too!
hey everyone,
it's really motivating to read how motivated you guys all are - especially in relation to excercise!
I have had a really s@#house day so far but the one thing that has gone well is my eating so I am pleased about that :) I even resisted that fruit cheese on crackers that my boss was trying to offload on people at lunchtime! I love that stuff but think it's probably too high in fat. I am like you Tracey with the alcohol, any cheese is too much if I want to lose weight. I am the same with alcohol as well actually now that I think about it :(
Kaz - you poor thing! I hope you are up and walking soon.
Lucy - I was wondering where you had got to......don't worry about the few slip ups. It is hard when there are people in the house and it doesn't sound like you went too overboard to me. Just get back on track from now and you'll feel better by this time tomorrow :)
Breaking news, DP and I have just signed contracts for a 5.5 acre lot of land out of town and he just suggested we go out there. I might power walk around the perimeter a few times. How far do you think that would be? Exercise! YAY!
Catch you all later.
I walked for 15mins! So one of the powerwalks is done! Apparently it was approx 1.2km. I know it was at a slowish pace - tried to go quickly but there were many obstacles like tree branches, rabbit holes and knee high grass to contend with! I know it's not much compared to all you girls who seem to be exercising for hours each day but I am really proud I made the effort. It will be better when the grass is mowed.
hehehe, next time push the mower around Kaz :D
well my exercise today is going to be 10pin bowling - we're taking my DSS for a few games!
AND my Angel is home (this is my car - not a child - but then again.......)
