One of my FB friends posted the other night about the Paleo diet working for her. I had never heard of it, so after she told me a little bit, I did my own googling (as much as I could stand to do on my iphone) and I've got to say that I am really interested in trying it out.
Is there anyone here that is on it? is it working for you? Do you find it hard to stick to?
The Paleo diet is simple yet remarkably effective for fat loss and halting or preventing a number of degenerative diseases. To reap the benefits of the most effective nutritional strategy known, one need simply build meals from the following:
Lean proteins (ideally) grass fed meat, free range fowl and wild caught fish
Seasonal fruits and vegetables
Healthy fats such as nuts, seeds, avocado, olive oil, and coconut oil
So basically, no rice, pasta, sugars, salts etc etc etc

A dietician I know has spoken about this. Apparently it is very hard to follow and meet nutritional recommendations because of the availability of the foods, and the reduced nutrients in the grown foods now from soil depletion. I think if you were to consider it, it would more be because of a reaction to preservatives etc rather than for weight loss or general health, and you would probably need supplements. For weight loss or general health it would be more sustainable to combine a sensible diet of a range of easily sourced healthy foods and exercise.
A good friend of mine is on it for a digestive disorder and she hasn't looked back. Her digestive problems have disappeared and she has lost a heap of weight!
Her naturopath recommended it. She finds it really easy to stick to now
If you like I have a paleo recipe book in pdf, if you want to pm me your email address I'll send it to you
