Welcome Tashy! Sounds like you have a good plan together. I am doing the C25K as well although I have pulled back a little form it as I do get shin splints when I progress too fast. So am mixing it up with the cross trainer and exercise bike. Great to have you here :)
Well I have been eating really badly. I just haven't been able to stop myself (or I could have but didn't is more accurate). But I did do a good walk on Sat, and a road jog yesterday. I took my dog though and he just can't keep up anymore so I ended up walking a lot of it. This morning I did 40 mins at the gym. When I exercise in the morning I feel good all day. When I do it at night, I think about the fact that I still have to do it, pretty much all day. Moral to the story is that I have to make the effort in the morning or it just won't really happen. Have a greek salad today for lunch and some fruit and veg to snack on. Plus my coffees so that should see me through without getting too hungry. At least the cafe at work is too far away to just duck into for a muffin. Anyway hope everyone who indulged over the weekend is finding it easy to reboot for the week! Bye!

I also just wanted to add for those who are using a gym and counting calories that I had my suspicions that the gym cardio machines read too high for calorie consumption. I thought this when I was comparing the calories that calorie king would say the exercise burns and what the machines are reading. So i finally googled it today and my suspicions were confirmed! Supposedly the difference can be up to 30% (e.g. if the machine say you burnt 600 calories you may only be burning 400). So I am only going to put in 2/3 of what the machines read when I put it into my calorie counter.

Welcome Tashy :D
I like it when I can drag myself to the gym in the morning too but it doesn't happen often.
For me this week is all about food and water. I need to get in the habit of drinking more water and keeping a closer eye on what I eat. I know a mushroom is a fungus but is it a vegetable or a protein?
-
Mushrooms have protein, so do pretty much all vegetables (although mushrooms technically may not be a vegetable as they don't come from the plant kingdom). Are you trying to increase your protein?
-
I try and follow an eating plan that has a certain amount of serves of carbs, protein, veges, dairy , fruit and fat (pretty much the food pyramid) and I ate mushrooms for breakfast and I have no idea if I should call them a serve of veges or a serve of protein.
-
If the categories are counted separately then I think you could add them into both categories. Have you tried using Calorie King? You can change the settings to show the make up of the foods that you are looking at. So instead of cals and fat you could choose protein / sodium etc or whatever you are interested in.
-
I joined calorie king once but it made me confused and it didn't have lots of the meals I eat so I haven't been back. I might check it out again.
-
It can be a pain to settle into but once you have added your usual foods into the customs food section then it gets easier. Often if I have a set meal I use (say weetbix/soy milk/sugar or coffee/milk/sugar) then I will put it in once as single items to get the cals/fat/protein etc then make it up as a custom food for the whole meal so I only have to add the meal and not each ingredient. HTH!

Cleaning, cleaning, bending stretching... How can I figure out what the daily chores do for my exercise regime?
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!

Welcome Tashybabe! :welcome: Another friend on the Spring into Action bandwagon, WOOHOO!!! I also enjoy the release of endorphins into my body system after exercise, I find it centring when i've finished an exercise session like a long walk, and stand/sit there quiety stretching feeling the electricty flow through my body. Yep, very nice indeed. You're plan to achieve your goals sounds ideal too, in that it is realistic and attainable for you. Great job.
It's been super busy here at mine over the weekend, with the football and all ;) Go the Mighty Eagles!! :bluecheer::happyforyou::bluecheer:
I weighed myself Friday (I think, or Thursday?) and the scales said 75kg! So 86kg was way out of left field, shouldv'e known really. I can't wait to weigh in on Thursday again! I've had such a discipline weekend and feel lighter, iykwim. I don't feel so heavy and lethargic. It's been quite wet and windy here so ive just been doing lots of incidental exercises like lunges and squats when Vacuuming, leg stretches when folding washing and then my cross trainer when I get a spare 30secs (to get my HR rate up).
My food intake has only been raw vegetables and water, as i'm detoxing my body from all of DD's vegemite leftovers and all that toxic (but oh so delicious) alcohol from a couple of weeks ago.
I should also add, that I can pull my Rusty jeans up all the way and fasten the button and zip!! The only downer is that i've got a massive muffin top! Yuck! Soon they will be hanging off me again :leap:
Happy bday to Cherished's wee man as well for the 18th! My how time flies when you're in love with a Little Blue Tiger :) Look forward to hearing about all the healthy party food!

Hmmm, Brother-in-laws wedding combined with holiday this weekend, read, lashings of cake, tiramisu, pasta, takeout, bbq food. Needless to say I gained a kilo but have been very strict with myself today so plan on shedding it and more by next Monday - kidding myself much?

Onyx LOL to the shorter comment, if it makes any differents you don't sound or look short in your posts hehehe ;) How did you go with the water? I am getting better. I used to drink at least 2 lts a day for years but since ds was about 6 months I hae stopped. I know why actually, we are co-sleeping and I have always gotten up in the night to wee but it was waking ds us. So I cut down on the water... I figure I need to get it all into me in the morning and slow down in teh afternoon.
Manhattan thanks hon, I'm glad you are liking the list. And I took your advise and enjoyed ds's 1st birthday :D lucky I'm not a lollie gobbler, it's the one thing that I can buy and not eat loads of so I get dh lollies every now and again and put them in the freezor for him.
ZF Did you check out Noon for tracking food? Thanks for the Freid Rice recipe. Hope you get lots done when you are on your ban.
Mildez, I know ONE right :o I know where the years gone... I spent it in a cloudy hazey fog type place where I was reeeeealy reaaaally tired lol What sort of things does your program recomend for the burn 500cals 5 days a week?
MM San Churros... yep *droooool* but still ahot choc is probably a better choice in a place like that!
tashybabe welcome hon
krysalyss I totally agree about the cardio machines! using the basic guide from Caloire King there is a huge difference in what the machines say. I had a good treadmill and you need to put in your details to make it more accurate just as you do with a pedometre otherwise it's using an average.
Sunny awwww thanks hon, our little blue tiger had a wonderful day! YAY for your scales being wrong! Look forward to hearing what you check in is today.
Sas that does sound like a big weekend, but hey weddings etc are for living so enjoy ;)
AFM Finally I have a loss to record :cheer: but I'm still only 100g lighter off my original goal of 8kg's so now I need to loose about a kg a week to catch up! I'll give it a good shot! DS's part was fantatic with LOTS of healthy food. I made healthy muffins for the birthday cake, spelt flour, LSA and sweetened with agave nectar with mixed berries (ds had one of those) and then I made others sweetened with honey and they had choc chips in them. Lots of fruits, salads and other yummy food. I asked people to bring lunch to share (instead of just saying food or a plate) as I wanted people to bring real food not chips, dips etc but pretty much everyone other than 2 friends (a beautiful BB gal included) bought dips, crackers and chips :wall: I hid them under the table though and didnt' put them out. I already had healthy crackers and hommus out so there was no need to bombard the table with chips! Anyway there was plenty of healthy food to go around :D I did provide softdrinks and juice but I also had water which I didn't drink enough of... All in all it was fantastic and YAY I can record a loss!!!
-
Well done on the loss Cherished! I'm glad your sons party went well.
I've lost 1kg this week! :cheer: I'm pretty pleased considering I haven't exercised the last few days, I've had a bit of a cold. So I am now 66.2kg :)
-
mmmm Im doing terrible! another 100gm gain. Up to 71.3..... gggrrrrr absolutely lost it!
-
Ban didn't kick in yet, i actually stayed the same which is good as i thought i would gain... so back off to do my spring clean and hope it burns off some calories.
-
Just checking in quickly, bbl for persies. Another 1.3kgs down, yeah! Even with the arrival of af today so I'm stoked :)

Hi guys. I weighed in this morning and am the same as last week. Felt pretty grumpy about it but got my gym clothes on and went for 40 mins on the cross-trainer anyway. Still a bit grumpy because I have a mammoth day at work and I just want to go back to bed. Oh well. Congrats of everyone who got losses this week. for those who were a bit disappointed this week like me.
