Can I join in late?
Hi ladies - better make an effort and post something! I weighed in at 76kg (but I started Monday, not on the 1st), weighed this morning and scales said 75.1kg so very happy with that! I have been walking every afternoon. Lots of healthy food -glass of warm lemon water first up every day, chicken this week, no red meat (though I had ham tonight), lots of vegies, 2 fruit per day, low fat low sugar yoghurt, the occasional cup of green tea (yuck but supposed to be good for you) and carrot sticks for snacks in between (actually really sweet yummy carrots at the moment).
70kg here I come! I am about 178cm tall, so anything under 70kg for me is too thin!
Hi guys! I had a half good and half bad day. The good stuff: I weighed in and didn't die of a heart attack. Although I am way over where I want to be I am not as heavy as I thought I was. Yay! So I am starting at 75.2kg. I also took my measurements. I went to the gym. Was running short of time but did my C25k session and ran/walked 3.17km in 22mins. It seems to be easier to do it on the treadmill as I can see how fast I am going and can nudge it up a little.
The bad stuff: DS has tonsillitis. :( And I didn't get time to start my new calorie king profile which I wanted to do. I think I ate ok but probably not super great. I also didn't get a job I was waiting to hear on. Just a piddly little casual job of 6hrs a week but I still didn't get it. That depressed me.
So tomorrow I will have a quick jog on the road as the gym isn't open, and when I get to work I will do my CK profile and kick start that.
Hope you guys are all going great :)
Me today:
Bad: I ate crap. I don’t even want to confess what I ate it’s so bad. :(
Good: I did a very hilly 5km in 45 mins.
Friday - work after no sleep so no run but ok food
Today - back to work after less sleep so plan to keep food good and lots of water. Hope for a run Sunday am.
Grr, pretty crappy start here. I believe my little one is going through a wonder week, so she's very clingy and unsettled. Yesterday I spent 3 1/2 hours pinned to the couch just continuously feeding her so she could rest.
So yeah, exercise out the window! Been eating well though, snacking on fruit and vegies.
Dunno how the weekend will go, we're off back home, two hours away, for a 21st. So lots of driving, a family lunch and then a dinner. Oh well, hopefully there's some good healthy stuff on offer.
Morning ladies.... hope everyone has a great weekend, it might be a bit of a hard one being Fathers Day and all with lots of get togethers but i guess we can treat ourselves but try not to go too over board and remember tomorrow is another day, a day to get back on track and into the healthy foods/exercise all those things that will help us acheive our goals.
We can do this and we WILL do this :)
I'm not so great at posting in these threads either. I read but don't get around to replying
Anyway..... my weekly round-up.
6 days going to the gym - not always working hard but at least keeping up the habit. I did spin today - it really hurt my butt. It's been a long time since I was up on a bicycle.
Eating - so-so. Breakfast on most days. Not always within 15 minutes of waking but at least before lunch time. Some of them may have been on the gluttonous side but I'll work on that next week.
We got DH 5 huge mangoes for Father's day.
:welcome: Victoria and Wrena, I've added you both to the list :)
doubletrouble, nuts are a catch 22 in my brain, they are so good for you, I find them satisfying as they are protein but they are really high in calories! I eat plenty of them when not trying to loose weigh tbut have to stay clear while I'm on a mission.
Krysalyss I meant to ask you what the C25K is? And you poor dh :( Hey I was wondering if Calorie King has a free app for your mobile phone? I looked the other day but couldn't see anything. I have a app on my phone for counting calories and it's really groovy, it even has a bar code scanner which enters the food for you!
Epacris a hilly 5km in 45 is very impressive, you are a machine :cheer:
Kaytee, going away can be tough and westy I think the last 5 christmases I have been on a weight loss kick and I dont' know how I managed to be honest! I think because dhis so supportive and reminds me that I'm not missing out on anything and there will be plenty of other days to eat whatever I want. He also reminds me that food isn't the be all and end all of having a good time ;)
Onyx, Mangos... Where is the drool smily icon thingo! I bought a whole tray the other day as they were only 50cents each :leap:
afm, doing good but ds just woke up again, back later!
50 cents :o I wish they were that cheap here.
About the only thing I miss about Brisbane is the mango tree we had beside our front door - we had so many that the neighbours came and picked them too and there were still some that ended up rotting on the ground.
Cherished, you are an absolute star with the personals and keeping up with everyone. Bless you!
Can I join too?
My goal is to lose 1kg per week for the first two weeks and then half a kilo a week after that (for some reason I always find weight loss more rapid for the first two weeks and then it drops off). So that would make it 8.5kg altogether over the 13 weeks.
I also want to make time to excercise so by the end of 13 weeks, I want to be in my routine of excercising for 30 mins 3 times during the week and 30 mins sometime over the weekend.
This week I am focussing on getting my eating right. I have a chest and ear infection so I am not well at the moment which makes excercising is a bit out of the question. Hopefully, I will be better in the next few days and can start doing more activity - the doctor just changed my antibiotics since the last course didn't work. Hopefully these new ones will start working soon and I can get into it.
I was thinking about joining Contours - has anyone ever used them? Are they any good? Are they very expensive? They currently have three trial sessions which I was going to sign up for to see if I liked it and could be committed enough to it and maybe I could do that for my three sessions a week. It is getting too hot to walk outside now and it will only be worse by summer so I need something sustainable that I enjoy.
Hi to all the latest joiners :hello:
I agree with Epacris. Cherished, you are awesome! I am way too scatterbrained to get too personal, but sounds like most of us are off to a pretty good start :)
I managed to get to the gym last night, yay! I was the last one left there and I felt a mixture of totally-awesome-hardcore-gymjunkie and sad-loser-got-no-life considering it was Friday night! lol Feeling good this morning though. I have a harder time with the food side of things. I don't really want to go too extreme considering I'm breastfeeding, but feel as though I could still be doing better. I think I'm going to have to ask DF to leave the junk he buys during the day in his van, or sneak it in when I'm not looking so I dont get tempted.
Onyx, I cracked up when I saw "Apple is thin" on your ticker!
Hope you all survive the weekend without too many naughties!
Yay! So exited! I have 7kg to loose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight of 60kg. I put on 28kg in my pregnancy . I'd love to loose all 7kg this spring but will take it nice and slowly so I don't impact on my milk supply. I'm planning to take up running as of Monday because the Gym isn't really an option with the bub - hopefully she'll like the pram. Looking forward to sharing tips and motivation with you ladies
Hi guys! Just a quick one for me as I am supposed to be working. But Cherished the C25k is the couch to 5k program. It is just easier to abbreviate. It is a program that gets you jogging as builds up the intervals that you walk and jog so eventually you are jogging the whole way. I like it as it works for me. I was also thinking that when I finish it I might try and do it again but instead of walk/jog doing slow jog / fast run to try and get myself really fit. That is why I am finding it good on the treadmill as I know exactly how fast I am going. Anyway I will be back later! Have a great day!
Welcome to the latecomers!
Onyx, you can by gel pads for the seat to help your bottom.
Overall, everyone seems to be doing pretty well.
AFM, I went for a loooooong walk this morning. Food's been okay too.
Onyx it's amazing that I've lived on teh Sunny Coast for about 12 years and I am yet to live anywhere that has unlimited access to a mango tree!
Epacris & MM Thanks so much, So nice to know that I'm appreciated :loveshower:
JustMe welcome hon and it sounds like you've got a good plan. Gyms are great for hot and cold weather so all year round you dont' have any excuses ;) Hope you're feeling better soon and can really get into it.
Wrena I think 28kg's is pretty normal in pg, I think I stopped counting after 25! I know I put on much more as I totally ballooned out when I went OD. I did a weight loss stint when ds was 6 weeks and lost about 8kg's in about 12 weeks I think it was. I am still breastfeeding and didnt' have any supply issues. It can be tricky when you can't get to the gym, I have a gym at home and still manage to avoide it lol
Krysalyss the C25K thing sounds fantastic! Bet it will feel fab when you rech that goal :cheer:
Hannanat long walks are great. Think I might aim for at least one of those a week with ds in teh pram. dh loves walking in the national park so I think I'll bring him with us.
AFM I've been eating well, haven't done a work out as such but I have been keeping the house house much cleaner, done lots of house work and caught on nearly everything. I think I'm ready to start working out as tomorrow I'm off to the pool for some laps. I haven't been counting my calories which is the next step. I WILL start doing that, today! And I need to drink more water! Water was never a problem for me I have always drunk loads but the last 3 months I have totally slacked off as the fatigue really kicked in. I have reminders set on my phone to drink water :D
I've stolen all Krysalyss's ideas
I checked out the c25k program and I joined carlorie king. Fabulous ideas, both of them. Thank you!
