Welcome chody and kimmi, of course you can join us! The more the merrier :D This thread is great for keeping us all accountable. We check in on Thursdays, and you can use kilos, or measurements or dress sizes, however you are monitoring your prgoress really. Looking forward to sharing in this journey with you both.
ausgirl - 3 mins is better than nothing, way to go hun! Pretty sure I only ever jog for that long under duress, hahaha!
Afm, back on the straight and narrow after saturdays blow out. Thailand is a one month and 2 days away now, and as of last thursday I had 5.8kgs to go til my goal. Can I do it?! I really hope so!
Hope everyone else is well and on track for a great week :cheer:
Grrr.....ok guys, any advice? I know I just joined here yesterday but I've been on a bit of a health kick since Friday now - so this is my 5th day. Can anyone explain to me why with increased exercise and almost no junk food (the only junk I"ve eaten since Friday are 2 cupcakes - waaaaay less than usual), I seem to have put on weight? I jumped on the scales this morning and rather than the 64ish I was on Friday morning they said 65 today! I will admit I am feeling less bloated but an increase???? Really???
It is best to weigh at the same time - I weigh in the morning after a wee and before I eat anything just so I can properly compare. You could fluctuate about 2 kg over the course of a day. Also you will fluctuate according to the time of the month and if you have picked up some more exercise you have almost certainly gained some muscle. It is good to also take your measurements as they will often go down even if your weight doesn't reflect a loss. I take them across the bust, tummy, hips and thighs. HTH
Chody, I agree with krysalyss - I always weigh in the same day (thurs!) as soon as I wake and after a wee. I also only wear my knickers so there can be no other variables.
Thanks for the replies Krysalyss and manhattan. I too always weigh in at the same time of day (morning after a wee, just before I hop in the shower). Maybe my cycle has something to do with it - on Saturday I just switched from the mini-pill to the normal pill - maybe my body isn't liking that lol. I also agree about the muscle (although I'd be a bit suprised if I'd gained much by now!). I did think about measurements and took them this morning. I guess in reality I don't care about numbers as much if my clothes are fitting better. That being said, losing a few kgs would be nice!
Just finished my first couch to 5k! I am alive and still breathing! So I jogged 9 minutes in total and walked about 15! My legs are gonna be sore tomorrow I think.
Nice work Ausgirl! I always think the first is the hardest mentally. Congratulations!
Morning girls... well, afternoon really~ i cant seem to work out night shift and eating. I ate dinner last night, went to work, ate an apple and a few squares of plain chocolate, plus 2 coffees. Got home around 8am and had a banana, went to bed and have just had a few nibbles. I'll eat dinner coz I will be hungry by then. I did 15 minutes on the exercise bike too today. I might not be able to weigh in until friday as I am working tonight and I'll probably just hop into bed when I get home.
Good luck tomorrow everyone.
PMSL at your twitchy pokey nose.
Down a little more making my loss 3.2kilos since this challenge started. Very happy with that as over the weekend I was such a pig at my sisters wedding. I even ate 3 pieces of wedding cake for breakfast the day after. No surprise I gained 2kilos in 2days but Ive been working my butt off since Monday and now I've lost all the weight I gained over the weekend and lost an extra 300grams. 71.8kilos now. So close to been under 71.5 (my lowest weight in almost 3years) and even better close to kicking the 70's again. Which means rewards time from me and I told DH he has to get me a rewards also lol.
OK girls, it's time for me to admit defeat :crying: I have fallen over AGAIN today and have a seriously big bruise on my butt to prove it. I am seeing the specialist on Friday and will have an operation on my knee as soon as I can (probably 2-3 weeks time). Thankfully I wasn't carrying ds this time... Last time he ended up with a bloody lip when we both came crashing down :o I've fallen over 4 times in the last 6 months and the 1st time had me on crutches for weeks and has left me wobbly every since and 'nearly' falling over on a daily basis. I'm so disheartened by it all I could just cry. In fact I did cry lots today and even little ds cried with me, he must have gotten such a shock when he saw me hit the deck. He was crying and hugging me for dear life and while it was lovely to know he was worried about me it was also a bit heartbreaking to see just how important I am to him and that I need to look after my health in every way. I am desperate to have another baby and this darn knee is also holding that up due to falling over all the time and it being so weak it couldn't possibly stand anymore weight on it :wall: SO I'm 72Kg and haven't lost any weight in this challenge which I started to help myself and all of your girls. I am just going to have to eat well while I'm on my butt for the next 3 months as there won't be any exercise to save myself with. So I'm bowing out of the challenge and would love one of you lovely gals to take over the list for me. Thanks for everyone who joined up and is so inspiring :clap:I hope you don't all think I'm a looser and a quitter :shakehead:
 Cherished, I hope they can get that knee fixed up for you. You're not a quitter if you have an injury that is beyond your control. Lots of weightloss is about diet and I'm sure you can keep on keeping an eye on that.
Can you swim in the meantime - if you put a peanut thingy between your legs you don't need to kick.
I've fallen off the wagon in the last week - Grand final on Sunday, then I ate a packet of crisps on Monday and yesterday I pigged out on ginger thins. Today I was doing ok until DH sent me a sample pack with 4 chocolates in them - I just ate them all :(
Must. Stop. Eating. Junk.
I ran 7.5 km today and I stuck with my new higher weights for pump. My shoulders and bi-ceps really hurt.
Oh hun, im so sorry that pesky knee is causing troubles again :( Hang in there until the op.
Why on earth would we think you were a loser or a quitter? Not in a million trillion zillion years wouls we ever think that xxxxxxxxxxx
Good morning all. Hi and welcome to the newcomers :hello:
Oh Cherished, I am sorry about your knee. I hope the next few weeks go quickly for you and everything goes well for your operation. No one will think you are a loser or quitter!! Like Onyx said, this is out of your control and I'm sure you'll do everything you can to keep your diet as healthy as possible :D
Well done to everyone who has had a good week. I have had a pretty bad week. Lots of food and no exercise, but I have still manages to lose 500g. I'm pretty happy about that as I was expecting a gain this week. So I am now at 64.6kg, passed my first goal of 65kg :wiggle:
Oh Cherished, you poor thing! Sounds like you need to kind to yourself and take it easy.
I've had a 700g loss this week which I'm fairly happy with as I haven't done anything to deserve it. My LO is now 9 months and I think breastfeeding is starting to burn off some of my reserves. Yay! Hope this continues. So inspiring to see so many of you doing the c25k. Can't wait to get back into it from next week when my ILs are available to babysit :)
Thanks Onyx, when I read your post last night I had tears welling in my eyes, I just feel so deflated by the whole ordeal.
Sunny, love you mate, wish you were in qld!
mm thanks, I can't wait for the op, dh told his work last to be prepared for him to take 4-6 weeks off starting in a couple of weeks time. There is one good thing... we were going to wait till November for the op but getting it a few of weeks earlier means that ttc is also a few weeks closer YAY
werena we must have posted at the same time. Being kind to myself is easy (for me) but it's allowing others to help me that is a HUGE challenge for me. I find it really hard and I will never ask for help. The only thing that is allowing me to take that step is knowing that dh needs help and ds needs extra care and looking after. *sigh* I guess I will just need to get over myself.
oh cherished, I'm sorry this is happening hun  And no way would any of us ever think you a quitter or a loser! I for one would never have started this journey if it wasn't for you. Take care sweetheart x
I am happy to do the list if no one else wants to. Cannot promise it will be as pretty as cherished's, but I'll do my best :-)
A FM, a 1.7kg loss this week. So unexpected given my big grand final splurge, but totally stoked. Got swooped four times by an evil magpie yesterday on my walk. I had to run to get away from him, haha would have been quite a sight to see :D
