I totally knew that doctor was talking out his backside with the 'you need to drink 3+ a day'!! Knew it!! I used to make myself absolutely sick trying to consume and hold all that water in, so I gave up.
Bath I'm not a huge fan of red meat so I try to eat lots of chicken and fish instead - most of the time when I do eat red meat, it's processed in some way (eg mince rather than steak), which I know is worse for me but I can't seem to cook a steak right lol.
As far as my frame... eh, it's an odd one. Very disproportionate, which is why I tend to err on the side of being underweight so I look a bit more 'even', kwim? Very long, thin hands/feet and limbs, but I'm very broad-shouldered and have slim hips, no bum, a thick waist, and tend to carry any excess weight on top so I look really weird. Flabby upper arms, pads of fat in my upper back, a little spare tyre around the top of my hips and a pot-belly (which has been there since childhood, I've looked about four months pregnant since I was 10). And 172cm or so tall. I know going by BMI tables 54kgs sounds very low for my height but it never felt that way, just healthy, and I was able to just wear any old clothes without having to choose fussy things that disguised this and emphasised that, blah blah - eg right now, I can't wear dresses unless they're bubble skirts (and puff out from the waist to make my hips look as wide as my shoulders), can't wear anything with spaghetti staps/cap sleeves/sleeveless because it just makes my arms and shoulders look massive, and no matter what I wear I just look like I'm about to topple over because my lower half is so small in comparison to my top. When I fell pg with DD1 I was just a nice, even shape, lean all over and could wear singlets in summer without feeling terribly self-conscious of my shape. Honestly if I carried more weight around my hips, bum and thighs I would be more than happy to be a size 12 or 14 and in the 'healthy' weight range, because I would have a nicer shape and wouldn't find clothes-shopping so frustrating, but because I'm a 12/14 on top and an 8/10 on bottom I want to lose that extra weight so the two halves match, kwim?
ETA: just for reference, a photo LOL. An awful one! This was pretty much the photo that snapped me into action on getting back into shape, my face is a bit skinnier now (okay, quite a bit skinnier, if you're on my FB and can see the photos from Britney you'll know what I'm talking about) but my upper half is much the same.
ETA: Obviously I'm the dark-haired one lol, my friend has an awesome figure after three kids, the cow :P
