1.7 to go! Well done!
woo hoo that's awesome!!! Congrats!!:clap: :leap::leap: (see that's the new slimmer fitter you running around there )
Jayne, that is incredible!!! Such brilliant news, you are so incredibly close now!
Some not so brilliant news from me today, I took my engagement ring off at the gym this morning whilst I was on the rower and put it on top of my towel, I obviously didn't pick it back up because now it's gone. No one has handed it in and it's nowhere around on the floor :( I am so ****ed off with myself for doing that!
OH MY GOD APPLETREE! I am having heart palpitations for you. I am sooooooooooo sorry this has happened. It's a horrible horrible horrible feeling knowing you have lost something so important. I lost Jessica's birth certificate at a swimming centre once, because I needed them to enrol her & I felt physcially sick! Thankfully they did turn up, after about a week, but they were a little water-damaged. At least I got them back I suppose. I really, really, really hope that somebody with half a heart has picked it up.
If not, is there any way you can claim it back on insurance or something?
Oh & have you told your man?? eeeek!!! **Scared face right here**
TO ALL THE GIRLS _ I'm sooooooooooo incredibly blessed to have all your support. Not just with the weight loss, but with the whole 'thing' just lately. I have really struggled in so many areas of my life the past month, but finally I see the cloud lifting. Today, we got an apartment! Thank the effing lord. Sorry  for the swearing. Yes, it's a mega-expensive one, but you know what? I am done with caring about it. I have looked at around 15 apartments & this is the only one that fitted OUR bill. I have had plenty of rows with Alan over the cost, but I just don't care now. Nothing like a bit of a shower 'show' & some activities on the bathroom vanity to make him see things from my perspective. :pmsl: Actions always speak louder than words with my man. So we negotiated hard & we have secured the apartment, now we are just trying to see if they will throw in gym memberships as well. Tomorrow night we are off to Seoul & I plan on just relaxing! Leaving all the negative thoughts behind & focussing on next week when we (hopefully), move into a new apartment!
xx
Appletree - I am sooo sorry that you lost it!! I hope it turns up somewhere unexpected - it's horrible to think someone might have found it and not handed it in!! Are you ok? I can't imagine what you mind is doing to you - but remember it isnt your fault, its just an accident
Jayne - Congratulations on the loss and on getting an apartment!! How exciting - I love that feeling that finally everything is coming together again - enjoy it!!
I have been on the verge of feeling like I am doing a good thing with my eating all week but I havent actually had a perfect day yet - sigh! I am finding it harder than I thought to give up my glass of wine on the couch with DP after DD has gone to bed - I have realised this week how much I need that 20 minutes to unwind and it just isnt the same without a glass of wine in my hand lol. I am not even going to bother weighing myself this weekend - I know I havent lost anything and I dont want to get down on myself. Instead I am going to give myself a good talking to and get myself on the wagon properly for next week - not just half on letting my feet drag lol
Do you all have plans to follow in your weight loss? Food and exercise wise? I have been trying to calorie count but keep finding that I forget to enter things and then dont remember to later - when I was entering everything though it kept telling me I wasnt having enough calories - which just confuses me
I find it very hard to exercise at the moment with DD at school and me at uni full time - I might make a deal to pop DDs bike in the back of the car next week and take her to the park a few afternoons and have a run around with her ;)
Thanks guys, I am still optimistic that it will turn up, I will have a good look tomorrow too!
That is great news on the apartment Jayne! Is it the one in the ex-pat building? Hope you get your gym membership! How fantastic about getting to go to Seoul! You are so lucky! Hope it is amazing, I would love to travel more, but we just haven't been able to manage it while the kids are little.
PRMG, that sucks that you have been down the plaster route too, isn't it just awful?? Has your DD been given the all clear yet?
Ash- I would just have the glass of wine to be honest!! You need to wind down, build the wine into your daily calories, it's worth it ;) I don't have a plan as such, I just try to get myself into more of a routine which includes daily excercising of some sort, and regular foods that I know are going to keep me under my cals. For example, days when I work I more often than not get a 1.5k walk each way to the station which is around 300 cals burned, then for food I will stick to toast/cereal for breakfast, lunch I buy a salad, sushi, wrap or soup, usually have a few coffees/diet cokes through the day and then I know I don't have to worry too much about what's for dinner as I usually have around 600 calories left. On the days where I don't work I try to do a 1 1/2 hour gym session and burn between 500-800calories. I stick to the same breakfasts, intend to have a light lunch (this is where it all goes wrong when df is around!) and then whatever the family is having for dinner. Still trying to work this part out though!
Having a quick side vent sorry, but work is just making me feel sick to my stomach every time I think about it. I don't know what to do, I dread going there and am so stressed out. My stomach has this great big hard lump in it :( I used to really enjoy what I do, and I was looking forward to going back, but it is not at all what I was expecting. I am thinking of maybe taking a natural supplement for anxiety and seeing if it helps at all. Df is complaining that I am angry all the time, and I've only just started back, it's going to be a million times worse when I am full time!
Oh no Appletree!! That's dreadful. DH left his wedding band at the gym once but it was handed in. He left a nice watch too and that was never handed in :(
Can you put a notice up? Maybe if someone picked it up they will hand it in if they realise how special it is. Maybe ask the cleaner to check the dust-bag of their vacuum if it was near the time they come.
Can you look for a new job or is there not much work in your field.
Jayne, WTG!! You're so close. Congratulations on finding a new apartment. I hope they include the gym. I hope you enjoy Seoul.
Ash, you don't have to give up your wine, just find a way to include it in your diet. I don't really have a plan. I try to get to the gym 5 days a week and work out for at least an hour and I try to avoid junk food most days. Sometimes I think I should be counting calories but that seldom lasts. I'm not good at maths.
belfie, I hope your achilles stops bothering you. I'm the same with wanting quick results too. I'm often surprised when I look in the mirror and realise that I don't look as good IRL as I do in my imagination. I should just avoid the mirror more lol.
PRMG, well done on coordinating the dog and the pram. My dog is small but when I tried to take my Dad's medium dog for a walk with a pram once it almost turned into a disaster.
Thanks ladies, it sounds horrible getting support to have a glass of wine lol- I was thinking last night maybe I should make it my reward for a good food day? And only have it if I have enough calories left for the day. I'm hoping to get some exercise done today - maybe try the couch25k again - I completed it about 6 months ago and was so proud of myself!!! Lol
Appletree - it sounds like it's time you start looking around at what other work is available  is it working in general or your specific job? There is nothing worse than that anxious, dreading feeling - I think supplements would be a good idea but not if you can't change your situation. Could you start them and look for something else?
appletree - I'm so sorry about your engagement ring! I hope it does turn up soon. Can you put a sign up at the gym, maybe someone will hand it in? I hope work settles for you too. It's horrible when you don't enjoy going to work, especially when we can spend so much of our time there. DD's hips are stable and fine, we got the all clear in May last year, but she has to have check-ups either annually or bi-annually. Her first check-up is this May so we'll know for sure just how she's progressing. The plaster is awful, I don't think I'll ever forget the smell.
Jayne - So glad you found a new apartment! Now think of the workout you're going to get, lifting all those boxes! And to possibly have a gym membership as well! Is that common practice in China when you rent an apartment?
Ash - It's really hard to get a "perfect" eating day, I think. For me, I really try to limit what I buy. I never have cash on me during the week, so even if I go out, I can't buy things. If it's not in the house, I can't eat it. I was calorie counting, found th best way to do it was whenever I sat down to eat something, I'd turn on the laptop then and there to enter it in. Good luck hun.
Onyx - It's taken two years to get my dogs sorted with the pram! Our c o cker spaniel walks beautifully, never an issue, but our beagle, well she is a beagle after all. We've been through about four collars (she pulls backwards and slips out of them) and two harnesses (same thing, worked out how to pull her leg through and slips out), but our latest harness it wonderful. If she pulls, it makes her sit down. So I go now with a bag of treats and we do our 4k walk. I think they probably know that if they don't behave, then its a long time between walks!
AFM - I've had an ordinary couple of days. Didn't get a walk in Wednesday, and then yesterday was on and off heavy rain, so I didn't risk it. Going to try and get one in today, but might be pushing time. But have to go grocery shopping, so pushing the trolley is a small bonus, I guess. My DD is 2 on Sunday, can't believe it, and I'm making cakes galore! I just have to keep chanting to myself "don't give in to temptation....."
Just a quick one. Decided to join in. I lost some weight last year doing the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet online trial. It has started to creep back on though. Will be following it again, I find lowering carb and increasing protein works very well with me. Just need to get my daily portion sheet printed out. I found tracking what I was eating helped a lot, it is funny many days I would look at it and still realised I had some food portions left! I think I swing between over eating somedays and then under eating others. Our budget is tighter these days, so that will make it interesting as carbs are cheap and boy do the kids love them.
Have about 20kg to lose. Should weigh myself today, but I am a bit frightened. Think I am having a fatty week. Some weeks I think I look great and others, well, I think I look horrid.
Welcome Astrid :D there is nothing worse than a fatty week! Great work losing weight before - what is the main gist if the CSIRO diet? I should really look around and chose something to follow because I always feel so much more in control if I have a plan - at the moment my plan is to use common sense  which is failing me far too often. I have about the same amount to lose so it be great to have you here!
Thanks for the tips pakrak! I like the idea of not having cash on me - when I lost weight after having DD I had got myself so in the habit of just eating at home and I think that really helped a lot.
I had a reasonably good day today - until DP arrived home with kfc  my first reaction was that I would let them eat their junk and make myself a sandwich (because the roast beef and salad sandwich I had for lunch was Devine!) but then I gave in *sigh*.
I am keen to do a Juice detox this weekend - I brought a book on it and I really want to try it. Has anyone in here done anything like that before?
I hope everyone has an awesome weekend ahead of them!!!!!
I'm so excited - at my weigh-in on Mon, I'd only lost .1kg. Then I had to do a #2... and there was another .2kg
Then yesterday hopped on the scales to see how I'm going and I was another .4kg down... and now this morning I'm another .2kg down! So at present I'm .8kg down on my monday weight. I'm just hoping it will last till Mon!!
Astrid - I haven't tried a juice detox sorry. I had the same thing happen with Red Rooster the other day. DH wanted it for lunch and I said nope nope, but ended up getting the equivalent for dinner for everyone after all (cos we ate the leftovers that SHOULD have been dinner for lunch!). Arrgh :wall: oh well next time. As for weighing yourself, well given you're going to lose weight - weigh yourself to find out the baseline & to know you'll just get lighter from that - you can do it.
PRM - you were right about my shoes. I have great shoes, properly fitted etc... but I walked in my good walking sandals... and yup, achilles doesn't like that. Which I should know, cos i've got orthotics in my runners .
As for my hips, had a great session with my osteo and we had a good chat about how I can manage my pelvic instability and still walk. She wanted me to pull back from 30 mins a day (grr) but IS happy if I try a leetle bit of jogging. Plus I can try doing two 10 min walks and see how it holds up. Oh and stretch, stretch, stretch of course. Plus my carrot & celery stick sitting in the fridge saved me from snacking on junk yesterday morning and I'm feeling VERY motivated. I haven't had time to keep tracking my food in CK, but I think I've got a better understanding of what I need to eat & my calories per day - plus I'm checking labels and thinking about calories which seems to be helping. Bring on the healthy weekend!
How exciting Belfie!!! I hope that it lasts until Monday too - it's great that you can still exercise too
I am going to weight myself tomorrow as my starting point and start properly for that week. No more excuses!! DP is going away tomorrow until Friday  for work so I am going to use this to distract myself - I'm going to make a plan for the week with food and exercise goals on it - I know one I kick myself into gear with this that I will get really determined to stick to it - I just need to be harsh on myself the first few weeks and not allow any mistakes so that I end up in the right mind frame.
Weigh-in tomorrow, I'm excited! Hope it's ok. Who else is due to weigh-in?
eep, I've nerfed the thread!
Well I've lost 1kg from last week's first weigh-in! (that's right, one whole kilogram, not just .1 hahahah).
Woo hoo I'm so excited. Both DH & MIL reckon they can see the difference. I reckon they're probably just being nice lol. I'm now 1.9kg down... 9.1kg to go!
How is everyone else going?
I had a really bad weekend with food. We went away so we ate a lot of junk food and last night I had a CBF cooking moment so we got Oportos for dinner.
I think I'll make a chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight and there should be enough leftovers for 2 lunches.
Off to the gym for pump in an hour or. I will try to work extra hard to make up for the naughty weekend.
Belfie, WTG on your loss. That's awesome.
Astrid, welcome to our little group :)
Ash, good luck with your weigh in. I'm off weighing for a while. I'm going to concentrate on building muscle and getting fitter and then I'll worry about the kilos later. It gets depressing when I work hard for not much result on the scales.
Good Morning Ladies,
BELFIE _ WTG on the weight loss! 1kg is an awesome effort!!! You should be really happy with yourself!
ONYX _ Go pump some iron woman!!! Will be thinking of you. lol. The chicken noodle soup sounds yummy! Why is it that we always stuff up on weekends? I do the same! Hence my weigh day being Thursday.
ASH _ This is exactly how I started my weight loss journey - by planning all my meals whilst DH was working away. One week will give you a really good kick-start & hopefully inspire you to continue & keep going at it when he is home & avoiding being sabotaged by him! Good luck! What have you got on your meal plans? I LURVE meal plans!
ASTRID _ Welcome & good luck!!! My SIL did the CSIRO diet & she really enjoyed all the meals on it. Can't wait to cheer you on!
PAKRAKMG _ Hey, with your pooches, have you tried a halti on your beagle? I know lots of people see it being used for a snappy dog, but in fact, they don't limit their open/close mouth ability at all. I found with our Border that he only pulled on the lead when the kids were too far in front. The dog trainer told me it was his herding instinct that he didn't have his 'sheep' as close as he would like them & he would pull soooooo bad & it would really drive me insane, but the Halti helped so much with it. Now MIL walks him just on a check chain thing cos he has no kids to keep in line, lol, but I found he walked like a real sh&t when I was walking him over Christmas. Made me realise i have LOTS of work to do with him when we move back. He is getting very spoiled! lol.
ASH _ Did you decide to start the c25 thingy again? Can't wait to hear about it!!
ME _ Well, Seoul was a very pleasant surprise. Not at all like I imagined it to be. We barely got to see any of it though, we got to the hotel at midnight Friday night, went on a tour all Saturday afternoon & got back at 6pm, so the kids were shattered & it wasn't a good move to try take them out again & then we had to leave for the airport at 11am on Sunday, so it only left enough time to have breakfast in the morning, gather our things & check-out. Definitely somewhere I would like to go back to though. I am a bit of a sucker for Guess handbags & they had them at the airport. 2 handbags & a cranky husband later  I was a very happy girl indeed! lol. I ate so much food over the weekend, still not as much as I would have in my previous days, but I still definitely overdid it. I'm not even going to upset myself further by weighing myself, I don't think I'll even weigh this week, but I have gone straight back to my healthy eating & I have done 5km on the cross-trainer this morning. I'm going to try for the next 4 days to do morning & night workouts to try & redeem myself. As for everything else, we returned to Qingdao to find our new landlord has changed her mind on making some amendments to the apartment, so I'm extremely p&ssed off & Alan & I have had a major blow-up over it. The things we asked her to change are really, really cheap things & I'm saying to Alan lets just do it ourselves, but he won't just out of principal & says he wants me to go out looking again. I'm sooooooooooooooooooo over it, it's just not funny. Very unhappy girl right now.
Quickie as I am in bed on my iPhone sorry!
Belfie, that is awesome!! Well done on your amazing achievement! You are almost 1/5 of the way there!
Jayne- I think some more bathroom action may be required here ;) or else put your foot down and say if he wants to find something else then he can go out and find it himself!
Astrid, welcome to our little group :)
Afm, had a gain this week. We had a big celebratory weekend where I really over indulged so I knew it was coming! Hopefully things will settle down soon and I will get back on track!
Did someone ask about juice detox's? A friend if mine did one not long ago, she said she lost 7kgs and only 2kgs came back so she was pretty happy. I didn't get to ask exactly what it was though, could you explain more? I thought it must be something like the lemon detox diet?
*wave* to everyone else!!
