Bugs in light fittings - I blame climate change!

You know how we all used to have those ‘ye olde incandescent globes that were really inefficient and didn’t last very long.... and now we all have compact fluorescents because they’re much more efficient and last for ages.... and us changing our light globes will save the planet (sorry, please don’t go there (a climate change debate) in this thread, go start another thread somewhere else ). Well, because they last so long, we don’t have to change them as often (yeah derr) so we don’t have to get up there and go near our light fittings as often.... so the bugs have much longer to accumulate.

    That’s all.

Get your DH to rip out all your current lighting and install down lights - problem solved
He can do it while he's on paternity leave after he's fixed the study.

The other night we had the same issue with little bugs just gravitating towards any light they could find...

And yeah, in the morning I had the same nesting / cleaning obsession too!!

I think a tip I read somewhere was citrus oil on the globe? So rub a little lemon skin on the (cold) globe before you put it up

But downlights go into the ceiling, and when you pull them out to replace the globe, all the bugs fall out anyhows. And if a small creature crawls into your ceiling and dies, then the maggots fall out through the downlights (this happened to me, the morning of a mother's group meeting!!! UGHS!!!!)

Are you sure it's climate change causing it?

Because I am pretty sure Julia Gillard is to blame....

    (totally joking)
