I'd love a recommendation from anyone who has had a repairman come out to look at their fridge in Melbourne.
I think I need the seals on my fridge looked at but it could be more. I just don't want to be duped into spending more on the repair than I need if it is a problem that can be fixed by a replaced seal - been there before.
Hmm I replaced our seals myself but that may not be helpful if the seals aren't the issue! Cost me $50 instead of $300 tho. Place was in Moorabbin called Fridge-Seal lol! Good luck
we also did our own seals...if there is anything else wrong you will find out after you change them over and by then, usually, it is cheaper to just buy a new fridge than have a repair person come out and charge an arm and a leg to tell you that it will be cheaper to buy a new fridge ITMS.
Thank you ladies, I am a bit intimidated by the thought of changing the seals myself… I know it is probably simple, I just feel incredibly incompetent when it comes to handy stuff. Although Mak, I do like the sound of that price.
Cassius, if you weren't so pregnant I might get you to come around and show me how Only problem is that it is the freezer, on the bottom, that is the issue and I am not sure it would be reasonable to ask a near 28 week pg woman to crouch down to repair my fridge when I should be able to do it myself. Maybe if you point out general directions from the comfort of a chair while sipping tea, with your feet up, and my two entertaining your two??
Lol Jackrose! I felt the same but my budget forced the issue - it was really easy and there were excellent instructions. My seals clipped in and then I did a quick adjustment on one point on the freezer with the hairdryer - took all up about half an hour. Perhaps ring and see if anywhere near you has them in stock (how much they are) and ask how hard they are to fit?
You can do it!
