    Home made floor cleaner?

Does anyone have any "recipes" for making my own floor cleaner? It's to put in a "spray mop". It has a 500ml tank/container. I have tiles and laminate flooring (lots of it). My mum suggested vinegar? I really have no idea...

This thread could also have been titled "Confessions of a Hopeless Housewife" I rarely wash my floors but DS2 is almost starting to crawl, so I feel like I should

I use vinegar and water in a 500ml spray bottle, and then spray it on the floor and use an enjo mop - fantastic for huge hard floor areas. I use 1 part vinegar to four parts water.

Also use eucalyptus oil sometimes - mix about 50mls oil with the rest water.

Vinegar and bi carb??? I think some people use that for everything!!

We are in the process of clearing out ALL chemicals from our laundry and giving them away etc so that we only use natural ingredients for cleaning, eventually.....

I was told by a tiler when we had our bathrooms tiled, that wool wash was the best for them. For laminate, I am not sure, vinegar is a good cleaner for all surfaces, so worth a go. There is Face Book page called 'how do you clean? tips & tricks', they are amazing with all their cleaning tips & tricks and very nice as well.

i use viniger and water and sometimes washing up liquid. as a wall surface/purpose. you can use the bicarb to make a paste if you need to scrub something stubbon. you can also add a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil or lavender oil to make a pretty smell (and mask the smell of the vinger, i dont notice it but DH says the place smells like s fish shop sometimes)

I just did my kitchen floor with 1/4 cup white vinegar, 3 drops dishwashing liquid and hot water (500ml total) It worked really well, loved the mop, was so easy and quick and could direct the spray to the dirty bits! I might add some lavender oil to mask the vinegar smell though! Thanks for the help

We get ours from the pharmacy in town, possibly health foods stores as well?

We use vinegar. Everything else leaves a sticky film on our tiles.
