I bought a carpet cleaner today....

And OMG does it work!! I went to Godfrey's as they have been advertising a sale and I got a Bissell upright Petwash deep cleaner. I've only been home a little while but had to try it out and just one small square area and yuck, the water is filthy. I am really not a pig, honestly!!
It's so exciting seeing how much grot it gets rid of!!

Oh wow sounds great!! How much are they??? how long is floor wet for?? How often does it suggest to do it?

Normally $329, on sale for $299. Book says floor will be wet for around 3 to 4 hours depending on the style of carpet and weather, but having fans on will help drying time. It doesn't suggest how often to use, but the sales guy said this model was recommended for occasional use - so maybe the whole carpet a couple of times a year and also for spot cleans if there are spills, stains, etc.

If you want more hardcore cleaning there's a big vax model that is about $499 as well. And there are cheaper models from $149 but they aren't very good apparantly. This model has the rotating brushes like a turbo head on a vaccuum.

Just finished one bedroom (I had an hour off for dinner though!) - I was pretty thorough and it was grubby! A large bottle of cleaner costs around $20 and you should get about 3 bedrooms out of that. There were bottles with the machine. Room smells so nice.
