My name is Anna and Im a mess mover. My house hasnt had the floors mopped in months, the bathroom has only been given a quick wipe over and I always have a pile of (clean) washing lurking in my loungeroom. Sometimes its even folded! I just move mess from one spot to another, less obvious, spot.
And I dont care because I have 3 feral children and a lazy husband who destroy all my (hard) work so Ive officially given in to the masses :lol:
I'm mistyschell.. I've got spew stains all over my carpet.
My name is Rowellen & I am also a binge cleaner.
The floors only get done because DH does them. I blame the vacuum cleaner. It's a commercial back-pack type vac & I hate it. So I don't touch it lol!
I try to do the dishes every night. & the last few weeks it's been working to the point where DH even does them sometimes too! But otherwise, we live in a disaster zone.
I had a big binge yesterday. My mum kidnapped DS for the day so I did lots of things I'd been putting off. I sorted out his baby toys, cleaned the bathroom, did the dishes & made dinner, then started on our back room. Where I promptly felt overwhelmed and just looked at the mess for about 20 minutes before doing nothing else for the rest of the afternoon. DH vac'd & mopped the floors. DS had a great time at his grandma's & he came home to a cleanish house. It might last for a day or two. Then we'll just have to wait for the next binge in 3 or 4 months time lol!
Hi my names Dansta and i'm a hap-hazard house cleaner.
I clean in sperts. then it dies. the floors get swept twice a week. by DH. the floors a vac'd once every two weeks. by DH. washing is done every 2nd or 3rd day depending on how dirty DH gets :rofl:
i had a system. but it got a virus and crashed.
i will mop the floors, tomorrow along with fold my clothes and put them away in my wardrobe, not my floordrobe. and i may even find time to iron some of DH's good pants and shirts...
I'm LizJessie and I cleaned my house last month, and the last thing I've done lately was throw one bag of rubbish out from the living room bin today
Hi i'm smiles4u and i got so bored with the colour of my laundry walls about the time DD was born um lets see 4years ago now that my new laundry paint colour happens to look like a rainbow of colours cause it's actually the not one but two tall laundry hampers piled full of clothes that need to be ironed half way up the wall ... and i only really think about getting stuck into ironing them when the laundry hampers start to collaspe to the point that i can't get to the washing machine :hide: ... that's me hiding under the chair waiting for the next lot of clothes out of the laundry hamper to tumble down on me :redface:
... hellooooo someone anyone i think i have injured myself, ah what a shame i might need some physio with my HOT physio that dumped me last week, telling me my knees are better, pfttt :shakehead:
*** Oh and another thing the only time my front porch & path get swept as we get heaps of whirl winds of leaves is about 20mins before we have visitors to arrive which is like never cause no one hardly comes to visit us :rolleyes: ... anyone got a match maybe i should just invite them for a bonfire !!

Folding clothes really annoy me - I just have to wash them again and they end up in the same place! Meh, I think there should be a washing room and everyone keep their clothes there :-)
I hate Ironing and don't do it! Ever! If something needs ironing DP does it!
My dishes do get done nightly... Only because DP can't stand a messy kitchen

My house is never clean during the week. I don't really even bother, other than trying to contain dirty clothes to one area. My husband is just a pig so I don't bother trying. I pretty much leave the kitchen as his domain and I do everything else. TBH I hate mess and I do try to clean on the weekends but nothing particularly special. On a Saturday I like to get everything done (which probably explain why it's messy by Monday).
So firstly them 4-5 loads of washing for the week. Most are tumble dried because our line only fits one load of washing and has no sun so I'd be waiting forever for everything to dry.
Then we chuck everything from the toy/DS corner into the plastic tubs so we can see the floor. While DH does the kitchen (stovetop, benches, any dishes yet to be put away) I vaccuum the bottom floor. Which takes about 5 minutes to do one metre square because our vaccuum cost $70 from k-mart and are currently not in a position to replace it.
Then we pretty much give up and say - anyone that may happen to visit can only see the bottom floor so... we're done. Sometimes I even forget to go back and do the laundry/toilet which is always gross because there is no ventilation in the laundry so all the drying makes a mess. Half a wall is grey, don't know how I will expain that one... :doh:
Anyway I guess my point about apathy was that I couldn't care less about the detail cleaning. And I think it's because this house was filthy when we moved in. The whole kitchen ceiling has oil splatter and food marks right into the laundry and back into the dining room. I hate having to clean something where I feel that I have someone else's mess to scrub back as well! What can you do though, we will surely lose partial bond when we move out because we can't maintain something that was already filthy.
What I don't get is I am sure they would have had to have charged a cleaning fee to the last tenants, but there has certainly been no cleaning done except the carpets when we moved in... even all the benches were sticky!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that :rofl::
No one ever visits if your house is clean! Its always when its at its worse.

So glad im not the only one who goes on cleaning binges...!! The bigger my belly gets the less amount of time i can clean for without something aching!
Im hoping when i finish work i will have more time/energy to keep on top of things...right?

I keep saying to DH 'the girls keep me up at night' 'I am so tired' :rofl: One day he will cotton on to the fact that 10days a f/tnight they both sleep through :rofl:
Hey my name is Bonham08 and i'm lucky if all my housework is done every week, i do bits & pieces but never all at once. Benches, dishwasher gets done daily and washing gets done several times a week and everything else is once a fortnight.

:rofl: well that is how it's supposed to work, but never does for me. Like, my days off are when the housework should get done. But my cleaning fairies never seem to show up :shakehead:
ETA - and I want to know, what is the point of dusting? all my dust seems to find it's way back an hour or so later? I still do it sometimes but never without asking myself WHY am I doing this :p
Think I need to join...my name is sammyro and its been too long since i gave this house a good clean.
i have a floordrobe, a lounge floor that is covered in mess (thanks DD!), an iron that only DH uses (and thats for one shirt a day - I keep saying that I'll iron 5 shirts a week for him so the ironing board doesn't have to be a permanent piece of furniture!), I bought an enjo cleaning thing so I can wipe the bathrooms and still only do that about once a fortnight (if that), my bed needs changing, the sofa we don't sit on is covered with nappies and odd socks ready to be put away (they've been there a few days now!), the flowers that DH bought me for our anniversary (in march) are still on the table (really should chuck those!)
Like a couple of other have said, I hate where we're lving and keep promisising myself that in the new house, I will be better! We shall see! Mum gets frustrated with me as she is ultra clean (although her house still looks lived in as opposed to show home) - maybe this is a rebellion against that environment :lol:
I do manage to do the dishes most nights, but only since we got a dishwasher. I also manage to keep up with washing nappeis and most of the other washing - its just putting the clean stuff away I hate!
Are many of us SAHM's? I always feel guilty when I go to friends houses who have children the same age and work pt/ft and their places are tidier/cleaner than mine :redface: At least you girls have made me feel like I'm not the only one :thumbsup:
Yep SAHM here but i figure those that work ft/pt are not home as often to make as much mess and often the children are in child care.. mine is roaming like a feral all day attacking everything... :rofl: That my justification anyway.:
I actually washed some of my floors today as I have people coming over Saturday. Some coming here for the first time ever, so have to make an okay impression LOL. It is the first time I have mopped them in I can't remember when. Good thing with browny coloured floors you don't see the dirt as much. Ashton spilt his cordial twice on the CLEAN floor. He could have at least had the decency to do it on the dirty one to give me incentive LOL.
Hasn't spilt cordial in ages, but of course it had to happen after I mop the floors. As the old saying goes why do we bother LOL.
I was astounded when I started working FT that the house was actually as tidy at the end of the day as I was when I walked out the door of a morning.:
BTW I am loving your floordrobe concept...gonna use that to describe DD1's bedroom from now on!

teh dishwasher gets put on every night by hubby.
i vaccume on a sunday and begrudginly lol i bride DS into doing it for me.. lol
sheets well hubby gets sick of sheets after 2 months and changes them.
the only washing i do is nappies lol
folding washing. um nope it goes from basket to our bed back to basket everynight. i have all teh right intentions to stand and fold and pack away but it usually gets interupted by something teh kids are doing or sewing lol
hubby hates when i bake as he thinks i use every spoon and knife in teh kitchen and bowl lol ok so maybe i do lol
i havent mopped our floor in 5 months i went and bought a new mop and used it 2nd daily for 2 weeks then the novelty wore off
our lounge is teh towl rack most days, and chairs are coat stands lol.
now the kitchen bench ummm do i have one :???? i think hubby put a new one in 6 months ago, i cant see it though
I never understood dusting... wasn't part of my upbringing (rather like ironing)
Any tips to teach 2 year olds to vacuum and mop effectively? DS is very keen....
Ah timing! I've just scrubbed the walls and ceiling in my son's room, so I'm feeling all domestic goddessish. His room is spotless. Does it matter that it's the only clean room in the house and I only did it in preparation for painting? I think not.
Just wanted to mention to all the ladies who said they'd be better in the new house... this was true for me! Old house was repulsive so I never wasted effort cleaning it.. and now I'm so happy in the new house and have actually been really good. It's spotless at the moment. My confession is my poor dog hasn't been walked in a while and the yard is filled with the trenches he's dug because of this. But I can justify this! I can only walk him when DH is home to look after DD, and he's never home. But everyday I see my poor sad dog, and can't do much about it. :(

so now i dont feel so bad, because i'm not alone!!
I'm a binge cleaner, spend all day scrubbing everything...and I mean EVERYTHING!! then nothing for a month..
I think washin is my down side.. DH loves to put the washing in the machine and wash it, and about 90% of the time he does hang it out which is all good, except he will put a load on...and it will be left (by me =P) for days and every day rewashed in the hope it will get out.
Bringing it in is another matter... I bring it in a leave it... and have a floordrobe...which despite what people say, it is actually organised and I know where stuff is in it!!!
I think this is why i love moving so much...starting new, makes you sort through your stuff and clean it, and you start fresh =)
oh and as of last week I now own an iron =)...hasnt got out of its box yet...but my new work shirts are cotten and i cant get away without ironing them =( i lasted 5 years without ironing!!!!!
