sheets, pillowcases and quilt covers in the dryer?

Hi people, I am after your wisdom.

So we are a bit sick here at the moment with a nasty cough coldy/flu thing and so I am washing our sheets,pillow cases and quilts in hot water to try and kill some germs but as the sun seems to have disappeared for the day I was going to use the dryer. Now normally I would use delicate/warm setting to avoid shrinking but as I wanted to kill germs was wondering if I could use the normal/hot setting? anyone know?

I do. My sheets are all just plain cotton, but I've put them in the dryer plenty of times
I've actually been using the dryer on hot for them at least once a fortnight coz we've been fighting nits & haven't had much sun here lately either.

i use the dryer for all my linen and i havent noticed anything shrinking

They should be fine hun. Generally it's only stretch type fabrics that shrink to a noticeable standard.

Mine always go in the dryer in winter.

If you want to kill germs though, add 5 drops of lavender or tea tree oil to your rinse cycle, will kill EVERYTHING.
