What size front loader for Queen Size blankets?

Recent threads on here have convinced me to get a front loader. There are only 3 of us so I don't really need a large washing machine but a do go to the laundromat a bit to wash our queen size blankets so thought since I am buying a new machine I could save those $$$$ spent at the laundromat. So what size would I need to wash a QS blanket? thanks

So my sister looked at me strangely when I said I used blankets? Does no-one use them any more? I just find doona's too hot and can't use them year round.

Well i can get a king doona in my 8.5kg machine.....

We've got an 8.5kg FL which fits our king bedding so queen would fit no worries

We have a 7.5kg (or is it 7? Lol sorry) and our queen blankets/doonas fit in perfectly!

7kg here and queens fit ok.

On a side note, I use the same doona winter and summer...it's duck down and cost a fortune, but so worth it! I only use a blanket on the kids bed, and we only have queen blankets.

I'd be concerned with the weight of the blanket when it's wet. What's it made from cos wool gets really heavy when its wet? It's not always about whether it fits or not but can the machine cope with the weight of the stuff in it.

we did our queen wool quilt in our new 7.5kg FL over the weekend and it survived, i didnt think about how heavy it would be wet lucky it didnt hurt it or i would probably be looking at a divorce!!!
