Hi all, I am looking for some info and thought someone may be able to help..
I have just had an ultrasound done and my results gave the following measurements for my ovaries:
Right Ovary measures 17cc with a small cystic structure measuring 2.1 x 2.4 x 2cm. The cyst shows mild internal echoes with no other complex features and is otherwise unremarkable. Left Ovary measures 9cc with small follicles within.
My GP seems to think that there is no need to investigate the cyst further, but I am a little concerned as my last ultrasound at the end of November showed no cyst, so this has developed in just 2 months.... She said that apparently some woman develop cysts at certain times of their cycle and that they simply disappear again - has anyone else been told this?
I'm also wondering whether anyone can explain to me what internal echoes are, as well as what the cc stands for in my Ovarian measurements, and also whether any of these measurements seem odd - considering that there is such a huge difference in the size of my ovaries?
I had a cyst on my L ovary too and on my 2nd u/s it had disappeared! They do seem to come and go. Cc is a measurement of volume. Maybe you are ovulating from that side this month?
