    10 years of PCOS

Well here I am not sure if I am in the right place but seems like a good place to start
ok well I am 28 years old and I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18
I had my left fillopian tube removed when I was 21 due to it being blocks badly by a cyst and it scared to to point of useless and was told 1 in a million chance of getting pregnant naturally.
I do have 1 beauitful daughter and she is 4.5 years old now (and a hell of a "surprise" when I found out I was pregnant too)
My DH and I have pretty much been trying for another baby since we had Bethany as we loved her so much and didn't know how long it would take
So here we r 4 years down the track and still just the 1 princess
We have seen speciatists (I do not recomend the fert doctors at Monash Clayton for u Melbourne ladies as they were really rude to me beacuse I am overweight) and I am on round 2 of clomid (Well I will be in a day anyway)
I am not sure how to go about checking when I ovulate or anything I know a little but any advice is more than welcome
Anyway sorry for the ramble I hope it wasn't too bad

    Hi There. Welcome to BellyBelly

No, you didnt ramble its good to get out everything that way people can give you the right advice or information you need. Those specialists didnt sound very nice at all, don't they realise that PCOS causes us to gain weight. I gained 25kgs in a space of 2 years which went unexplained until last June when i was diagnosed with PCOS.

I have never tracked when i ovulate, before diagnosed with PCOS i assumed i ovulated every month but i only did maybe once every 6 months. The last time i ovulated was when i actually fell pregnant, i don't get periods every month maybe every 3-4 months and i thought you had to have 2-3 in a row to ovulate but i had one and was very careless and fell pregnant, which was a shock as i was told concieving naturally would be very hard. But i know when i do, i get weird cramps and i get CM but i googled ovulation symptoms and matched what i experience and what they say so i knew when i was. There are also those ovulation tests you can get from a chemist, i never used one as i wasnt TTC until middle of this year.

I hope some of my ramblings have been helpful

    Hi there,
I too have PCOS though without the added stress of a scarred tube. Have you considered using natural therapies (such as herbs, accupuncture) either alone or in combo with your fertility treatment? Even with one 'working' tube you can still achieve success (as proven by your daughter) - especially if your PCOS is related to insulin resistance (which sounds like it is by your description of your weight). Are you in Melbourne? There are a number of reputable clinics with loads of experience in this area - PM if you want some ideas of where to start
Good luck and sending you strength to continue your journey

    yes I am in Melbourne
I have concidered natural stuff but haven't gone into much detail asides from a bit of research and a bit of added ginseng into my diet (and of course I am trying to loose weight)
I would love the PM with some more info if u have it

can i suggest you check out the fertility friend website and take their "lessons" on tracking your fertile times - it goes into info about basal body temperature tracking, cervical mucous and other fertile signs. can be very helpful in getting to know your body

not sure if you've noticed but clomid can cause you to ovulate later and string out your cycle to be a lot longer. a lot of doctors will do a blood test about day 21 to check if you've ovulated - sometimes this doesn't show ovulation though if it happens later...

the best way is to go with a FS that will track your cycle fully - having u/s to confirm follicle development and then ensuring ovulation is triggered

in your circumstances - as i'm sure you're aware - pregnancy is going to be hard to come by. not only are you havin to fight PCOS, but also one missing tube so it halves your chances. it's damn hard when you're facing so much difficulty

hoping the clomid works - but if not, there are threads here for those long term trying to conceive (ltttc) who will be able to talk you through the processes for more invasive procedures to help you. i have a DD from assisted conception due to pcos. it wasn't an easy journey - but she was worth it!

    Hi Got1,
I can't seem to send you a PM - do you need to adjust your settings? Perhaps if you send me one first I can reply
