    Clomid Question...

Just wondering if anyone can share their Clomid stories, i.e. what dose were you on and how long, was it successful??

    Thanks,
    Peachey

I was extremely lucky - I got pg on my first round of Chlomid. I was taking 50mg per day.

I had lots of of hot flushes, but I don't think I had any other real issues. The hot flushes were pretty bad, but I found ways of managing (as our TTC efforts were a secret from my colleagues!)

    good luck!

Thanks Peanutter and congratulations! That's fantastic.

Did you watch what you ate and increase exercise while you were on it? Last month I felt like I did everything right and nothing seemed to work.

    Peachy, welcome to BB.

On a side note, clomid is considered to be "working" if it gets you ovulating. Not whether it results in pregnancy.

Are you having blood tests and/or scans to confirm ovulation?

Thanks nothing2lose. Yes I'm having bloods to confirm and so far they have been negative. I'm having day 21 and day 28 to be sure.

I will find that thread also thanks

The only major difference I made that cycle is completely cutting out coffee.

I'd already dropped from 7+ cups to 3 when I started TTC, and had cut down to 1 cup daily after a while, and the cycle we started Chlomid I cut it out completely.

I think I was also trying to sleep more (usually only manage 5-7 hours per night ... I work a lot!) but I don't remember how I'd gone that month, sorry. But it was something I was keeping tabs on (in addition to eating well, fresh air, etc...).

But yeah, DH and I were incredibly blessed ... every month feels like a year, and every friend who announces is like another stab in the heart!

But all that being said, I'd gone to get an internal ultrasound to check whether I'd O'd, and they said I hadn't ... but clearly (considering DS is now here!) they were mistaken. Just goes to show that there's more out there

Good luck ... prayers for a good result from chlomid and then a H&H 9 months

Hi Peachey, another success story here. I am pregnant on my 2nd round of clomid 50mg after 2yrs of TTC. I hope it works for you as it did for me

    Hi Peachy,

I used Clomid and was on 50mg. I had hideous side effects, quite similar to menopause (so I am told), including night sweats, insomnia, severe mood swings. I did ovulate on Clomid but was not successful in falling pg, however it did regulate my cycles.

Another who did six cycles of clomid. It got me ovulating but no pregnancy.

Like Rhi Chi Chi, I had horrible side effects (worse as I went on). I hadnt thought of them as similar to menopause, but reading it now, that is exactly what it seemed like!

With DS1 it took me two cycles of Seraphene (aka Clomid) 50mg to conceive. I remember having bad pains in the region of my ovaries.
Am now on first cycle of Clomid to try for a third bub (DS2 was "oopsie" natural conception). On 50mg at the moment but other than waking earlier in the mornings, that's my only "symptom". Not sure if I ovulated, but will find that out tomorrow.

Did anyone else actually get told they did not ovulate but fell PG? I am sure the Dr is wrong, but I could be wrong also

my being told I hadn't O'd was based on internal ultrasound. They said that 3 or so folicles had "blistered" but not "ruptured" or something, and so I hadn't O'd.

but like I said, they were mistaken, I had O'd, and that little eggo got preggo.
