That she couldnt be bothered counting them all? lol Just another thing to confirm you have PCOS. I think my last scan showed 28 on one side and over 30 on the other..

    Ugh. That sucks.
I think they probably get to a certain point and not bother counting any more though, yeah. If there was no dominant one, and no corpus lu tem then my guess would be that you're either pre-O or maybe just before af

    Back with the results.

Luckily it was just confirming that i got PCOS. My GP told me to either go on the pill to regulate my cycle or go on Diabex which my FS prescribed me but i havent taken it

    So going to try that

GP told me not to take clomid

but results are good, ie no cancer and everything looks normal so happy with the results. =)

    Hey Hun,

I'm glad to hear you are happy with the results (even though I'm sorry it is what it is). You have an answer now and can formulate a plan with your FS to work around it

The diabex/metformin can be enough to help some people. Are you TTC? It's just a bit odd that the GP said no clomid, or is he asking that you try the metformin alone first?

I have been ttc for 1.5yrs. My fs perscribd both diabex and clomid but I only took clomid and for 2 cycles until I decided to go natural whch made this cycle lng and unpredictable.

It is my gp that said to try diabex without clomid bcoz ive got too many follies?

I dnt want to go back to my fs

More than 15 follies =polycystic ovaries....... Not necessarily the syndrome, you would need hormone tests to confirm that.

Put simply anyone with 15+ follicles have pco. So those follicles are cysts...... Or the result of eggs that were never released.

Don't you love the way no one explains anything???? I had ovaries 3 times the normal size and never got told anything about why.

Diabex would be prescribed alone before clomid to try and regulate your af. When an af is regular cysts have the power to correct themselves. If you went on clomid first you have an increased risk of it actually causing more cysts rather than ovulation.

It's a long process but well worth taking the long route!!!

My fs actually prescribed me clomid after 5 mins consultation! Then I did the glucose test which then made her prescribe me diabex.

im in the process of changing fs because she doesnt spend enough time talking to me and never picks my calls up wheni have issues, her nurses answrs the calls.

Dr's are so annoying. Good Luck finding another one. At least you are on the right path now.

My Dr did drilling without telling me what I was having...... same scenario..... 5 minutes, metformin isnt working - lets do the surgery see you in 2 months.

I am wating on an appointment with a new fs at the womens hospital now - same reason!!

Was going to say it is just to confirm PCOS as well Generally there are some really small ones that they cannot see via abdominal u/s so they count what they can see and just take that number so it will be over that amount

Hi m21. Where are you based? I saw an endocrinologist when I was in Sydney and she was fantastic. She also prescribed diabex and if that wasn't working she would have prescribed clomid. Pm me if you're in Sydney and would like her details.
