    Could I have endo?

Hi ladies. I recently had my second m/c this year, I have a 2 year old son and I am 37. I am waiting for my cycle to start so I can begin testing through the recurrent miscarriage clinic at Sydney IVF. Since my first m/c I have suspected that I might be suffering from endo, and wondered if I could share my symptoms with you all to hear your opinions.

I have irregular cycles which range from 31 to 41 days in length, suffer pain at ovulation, and excrutiating lower back pain up to a week, sometimes longer, before AF arrives as well as swelling and pain in my lower right pelvis area, nausea and tired all the time. I also have IBS, or what has been diagnosed as such but I am beginning to wonder if my problems may be associated instead with endo. Would you think it worthwhile to ask for a lap? We would desperately love to have another baby but I feel like we're starting to run out of time, and the thought of another m/c is just as scary.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

cobysmummy sorry to hear you are having rough time.

I was diagnosed with endo in 2005 and had similar symptoms to yourself plus a few others (heavy bleeding, clots, etc). After I had the lap, it all made sense why my bowel movements were so painful - the endo had caused my left ovary to be attached to my bowel! Not too mention, both tubes blocked and the endo riddled through my pelvis.

I would recommend having a lap as it is the only way endo can be diagnosed. It took me a couple of weeks to recover from the surgery and even longer to get over the emotional side of it all.

Good luck and don't give up hope. I never did and now have my little miracle boy

Hi Cobysmummy, through my own experience it was very hard to get any Dr to take my symptoms seriously and i went undiagnosed for about 7 years which led to me having severe intestinal endometrisois. I had a double bowel re section (40cm taken out) an endo nodule removed from my rectum which required a portion of rectum to be reomved, my appendix out, Right tube, and endo removed from bladder and POD. I too was told I had IBS for many years which i think is a generic label when they cant figure out whats wrong!

I definitely suggest reading up on endo and going and discussing your concerns with your Dr. tell them all your symptoms and taht you want to rule out endo as you are TTC and suffer from alot of associated symptoms.

    Good Luck
