endo and blocked tubes - surgery or ivf?

    Hi,

I have just recently had my third lap for endo and this time they did dye through tubes to check since i have been ttc for 18mths.

Gyno says tubes are both completely blocked, apparently she couldn't squeeze a drop out! She went straight to saying that our only option is ivf. But, in the last few weeks of researching Im thinking maybe i should get a second opinion from a fs?

Has anyone had surgery to unblock tubes and then fallen pregnant? I dont really want to do ivf if i can avoid it.

    Jules

    Hi Jules,

I think a second opinion is a fantastic idea, because if microsurgery can successfully unblock your tubes, you may be able to then go on to conceive naturally. It wouldn't hurt to explore every option. There are a few ligation reversal success stories on BB to attest to the great results that surgery can often produce. This is particularly good option if you wish to have more than one child, too.

In my case, I had a tubal ligation and had surgery to have this reversed, which then failed. I did eventually conceive with the help of IVF, however I have no chance of having more children without medical assistance.
