    Red face Endometriosis and conceiving

    Hi Guys,

Just trying to find some info on endometriosis and conceiving. I have been trying to conceive for the last 2 and a bit years with no luck. I have just been told i have endometriosis and have my 1st lap on the 1st of feb. I am quite nervous as to what to expect and worried that they may tell me I cant have kids afterwards. Has anyone been through this and conceived or not please share your stories! I'm really praying i will happen soon after!

    xoxo L.

I fell pg accidentally about 7 months after my first lap surgery. It really depends on the severity of the endo, scarring and if your tubes/uterus has been affected by it as well. Some women may only need a lap to give things a good clean out so to speak and start fresh while others may also need medication and assisted conception. It would be very unlikely that they will do the lap and come outright and say you can't have children but you could expect that it may not happen straight away. Good luck!

After the first one I had I felt great - no shoulder tip pain and only minor pain at the wound sites. the second one I had recovery was longer - killer shoulder tip pain and it was really sore for ages and I did have the rely on panadeine forte for a few days.

    Hi there,
After trying for nearly 2yrs I had a lap & found out I had severe endo.
Didn't fall pg after another 4 months so I went on chlomid & did IUI & the second go we fell pg but who knows maybe we would have fallen pg naturally if we had waited longer.
I definately needed strong pain killers (although not everyone does) & I would suggest taking pads with you.
    Good luck with it!

i'm afraid that i dont know much about the diaformin. the clomid still allows pg tests to work...but that's as far as i know i'm afraid.

i am really sorry to hear that the surgery was successful. it's such a tricky thing (the endo), but always keep in mind that allow it can make the TTC journey harder, it doesnt make it impossible. big phat

Hi Lisi_Lou85 - I have just been reading through your other posts. My heart is breaking for you, because I know some of what you are feeling.

When you say that the surgery was unsuccessful do you mean that they were unble to get it all out? Or the fact that you havent fallen yet? How do you know the endo it back? did hey do another lap? The reason I am asking this is because after my lap to remove endo I though he must not have got it all, because my cramps were just as severe as before the surgery. My Gyn told me that sometimes the surgery doesnt take away all the symptoms and that I have a very irritable uterus which is used to cramping.

Are your cycles regular? If not is this why you are on the clomid? as I was on it to make me ovulate (not cause f endo but because I was also diagnosed with PCOS).

Once my endo was removed we were told to start trying immediatelt to give ourselves the best shot at conceiving which we did, but then when I came off the pill (which I'd been on for years to control my cycles as such bad cramping) I didn't have a period for 76 days, and the next cycle was 50 odd days. They did blood tests and it showed I was not ovulating and had wacky hormone levels that indicated PCOS, then had an ultrasound which confirmed the PCOS and not ovulating.

The gyn prescribed clomid to make me ovulate and was going to do blood tests to check if I was ovulating. Before I could start the clomid I had a Blood test just to make sure I hadn't just ovulated (or was pregnant) - and I was, but sadly lost tha baby at 8 weeks.

I was then told to wait till my next cycle to start the clomid - I waited almost about 10 weeks and called my gyno to say I was STILL waiting and so he put me on the mini pill for 7 days to induce a period and then commenced the clomid -which was sucessful first go. I was told not to even bother with the OPK sticks and to DTD every 2nd day from day 10-20 and then I had a blood test day 21 to see if it had made me ovulate (which I had) and then I did a HPT on day 25 and got my BFP which resulted in my DD

So, to cut a long story short, I thought the endo was what was going to stop me having a baby but it ended up being the PCOS which was overcome but using the clomid.

If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask me

    hi erybery,

The Suregry was unsuccessful as they missed some and it grew back with a vengonce

I have been put on the clomid as I have also been diagnosed with PCOS and was not ovulating properly. (which sounds similiar to what happened to you?). My ovulation level was 9 and its meant to be between 80 and 200. after my 1st month of clomid on 100mg it it was up to 69 so then for month 2 i was on 150 mg and went up to 179 which is great but my period was 10 days late and a long cycle is not good So just waiting for my next appointment to find out what happens there..

So i start month 3 of clomid 1again 150mg on monday.. its starting to really affect my emotions and stuff though getting a bit worried. Also looking into other options just in case like IUI, GIFT, IVF and surrogacy..

    erybery where r u from????
