So on my last FS appt i was told i am not PG because i have male hormones leaking from my cysts into my ovaries, however i have not had a period in quite sometime *( which i know is a common side effect of PCOS but) should i dare think the impossible...is it possible to get pregnant with this condition without medical assistance...anyone???
Yep. It sure is! I'm living proof.. I have PCOS and have conceived naturally TWICE!
I took control of the parts of my fertility I could - lost weight, ate better, tracked my cycles, temperature monitored, checked my cervical mucus, had timed BD... I conceived my DS on CD 99(!!) and conceived the one I'm currently baking on my 4th cycle on CD 23.
DD was conceived through IVF but current baby bump was conceived naturally after only 4 months trying! As BlackRose said, little changes can make a big difference- weight loss, diet etc. I also saw a naturopath. I fell naturally with PCOS, endo and only one tube!!!!
my friend had irregular periods and knew she had pcos from the age of 18... since she went off the pill periods continued to be irregular (i.e 60 days length one cycle, and 30 the next), got preg naturally at 30 after 2 years TTC.... has diabetes as well. DK about the hormone state you are in (maybe I'm the same and no one's ever told me...) but she DID get preg...... was about to start IVF and never needed to go there.
just depends on how long you want to wait... maybe it will happen quickly, maybe not.... I don't want to take the risk and have after 18 months started the IVF process. But I am now 35 so it's a different ball game at that age... if you are much younger then you probably have heaps of time to give it a go ;-)
keep hoping I will be that lucky..... but I'm now doing IVF - which isn't so scary anymore... kind of finally made it to exciting this month
so to answer your question.... YES! it is possible to get preg without medical assistance.....
