hi iv got PCOS and have been on provera. It has 2 uses, either to stop a heavy period or to start one. I had it a few months ago to start a period and it started all right!! I had AF for 2 and a half months. They are known as my bit*h pills by DH and my friends so good luck wiith it. Iv never had a laporoscopy before but its just a key hole proceedure which isnt so bad.
    Good luck with it all

    hey

I have been on provera a few times... thankfuly didnt bleed for months afterwards just a normal period. I would say the dr is putting you on it to make sure you don't get your period before the lap so he can see everything properly and you don't have to cancel if AF were to arrive if you weren't on it.

    Good luck!

    Cool

Hi, I have been on Provera a few times. It is so true about the "*****yness" , I found that it also put weight on me and it did help a little with the pain. I also had the Laperoscopy and the best thing after the lap is a back rub/shoulder rub as you get gas caught up and pain in the shoulders. After being on the Provera you can get a heavy AF that can go for a little longer than usual. Make sure you have your pain killers. You can take pan forte and Ibruphan together if one (of them) isn't enough for the pain take some of the other. BUT DON'T GO OVER RECOMENDED DOSE (2 every 4-6 hrs). Plus stay in bed with a heat pack.
I have Endo and get the pain all the time. The pain for me is worst at Ov time and AF.
I have been dealing with Endo for 20 yrs now. Nothing had helped and I now have 3 children so preg don't work either.
Hope you can get some relief from the pain.
    Take care, hugs
    Chris

I have used provera to bring on my period. I took 10mg BD for 10 days. AF came on day 9 post provera.

I just finished my last provera tablet this morning but this time I was on 10mg BD for 7 days. *waits* I forgot to ask FS if it will come within 7 days lol it'll show up, it worked last time
