Hi everyone,

This might seem ridiculous, but I need help.

I am 29, I have put on quite a bit of weight recently, I was 71kgs, and I am now 110kgs a year later... due to my own fault, and stressful things happening...

I was trying to get pregnant with my partner, who is also 29, and I stopped getting my period in December 2009, then I found out via an ultrasound that I actually had big lumps in my uterus... and a lump on my ovary. Then with more scans, found out I have an 8cm fibroid, and some smaller fibriods, and a cyst on my right ovary.

I was promptly booked in for a myomectomy by my gyno, Martin Healey in Melbourne.

I was shocked and scared and didn't really ask at the time, and now I am worried...

Did this all happen due to my weight gain?! Surely, it must have had an impact.

The reason I ask is because I have an awfully bad feeling about surgery. At this weight I am frightened I am too unhealthy to cope with it, and on top of that, what if I have to have a hysterectomy.

The reason I wrote in this forum too is because I don't know much about PCOS and Endo, and maybe I have one?!?

I have thin thin thin hair, I have hair on my chin and side burn areas, which is getting worse, I haven't had a period since December, only spotting once in around May.... I have gained all this weight sooo quickly, I struggle to lose it, I have these fibroids, I get cysts all over my body, I just also found out through a blood test that I may have a fatty liver, which I still haven't followed up on, and I recently found a lump in my left breast, which turned out to be a swollen lymph node, but I am still frightened.

Can anyone help me? I don't have a lot of money, so I don't want to go and spend the money on a specialist appointment with Dr Healey again when he will just tell me to have surgery, and I don't know who to see or how to even go about finding out what the heck is wrong with me?

I know it has to be weight related, as I am not in the dark about how bad my eating habits have been recently, but how can I see the right person to help me, or tell me what I have?

If I have any chance of making my fibroids smaller via healthy lifestyle, or losing weight via a PCOS program if that is what I also have.. then I will.... I just don't know where to start...
