recovering from endo operation- when can I return to work after surgery?

Just had operation on Monday night, now still sore, having difficulty moving arround, has to hold my tummy in when walking in the house. Dr said before operation I can go back to work the third day, but nurse told me after OP, I will recover aft 3weeks. any one has experience? Plus, the operation went on for 2 hrs, 2 patch were removed, 1 could not be removed as it grew into muscle supporting my overy, Dr said I have to cure it natully by having a baby......

blood test CA125>35 + ultrasound showed small cyst in ovary = DR decide I have endo in my ovary area which affects my egg quality and implantation

my endo op was a laporoscopy.. so i ended up having a day off work the day after the operation.. i was sore for weeks and weeks after but it turns out i had an ectopic pregnancy also so i was then off work for a week once they did another laporoscopy to get rid of the pregnancy.. sorta not the same situation but i hope it helps you...
i guess you should return to work when you feel ready.. if its not a real physical job id go back soon but everyone is different.

I was told 3 days too, but ended up being in hospital for 7 days after getting an infection, home for another 2 days, then hospital again for another 2 days. All up I had about 3 weeks off work. I suppose it depends on your job too - can you take it easy or is it hard labour? It was 6 months before I felt 'me' again. HTH

My work is not labour, but not sure about the walk to station

Hi Thanks for your replies. I dont have to lift anything heavy at work, but there is some walk to station from home, about 10 mins, uphills too. The nurse said I should avoid walking, doctor was gone after OP, my OP is keyhole surgery, 3 holes on the left, but right hand side fell more pain than left, guessing thats where it was operated.

still bit bleeding down, pain when try to stand still

I had a 3 hour lap. surgery last july via keyhole and hysteroscopy..They removed extensive endo, fibroids, cysts and polyps.... I had similiar symptoms as you three days post op.... still felt average but went back to work after 5 days but went on light duties for a week ( heavy lifting involved in my job)...
Everyone is different , I'd say take it one day at a time and you will know when you are ready to go back...
Is there any way you could get to the station without the long walk?

    Thanks getting better

    Hi Thanks blinky76

I had hysyer.. with lap.. together as well, as it was very late when the operation finished at 9pm, Dr left and only talked to my husband, I only found out yesterday, that Dr also did something to remove some scar tissue in my appendix area to go through to the ovary area. so that might explain why I had pain near my appendix scar. I think I should be able to go back to my normal life next Monday. Thanks for the support from everyone.

I started the IVF journey from March this year, so far already had 2 operations(1 egg collection +1 lap) . I m getting scared of what I am signed up for....

You said you had lots of things removed, that sounds good, it certainly should increase your chance of getting a BFP in your next IVF cycle.
