I had my lap on May 8th.
After I recovered (2 weeks) I still had my lingering back pain, but my sharp pains disappeared. Now, close to 2 months later. They've returned, I'm still getting really painful periods, where all I can do is sit in bed, hot water bottle and tramadol. I feel so defeated, my pain medication is just making me sick and barely helping anymore. I've made an appointment with my gyno (who is booked out for three weeks ) but she said I might experience Phantom pain but if that's so why did my sharp pains disappear for a month and come back?
So girls, tell me. How long did it take for you to bounce back semi-completely?

I can't speak for everyone, but basically after my last op about 18 months ago, I was back on feet quite quickly, but then got bad again after a month and was told my endo was probably back. I haven't been right since then, and am now waiting to go in for my 5th op in about 4 weeks time.
I really hope you start to feel better soon, but if not, I would go back and see them and push for some tests etc. I have definitely found that you need to be quite forthright with some of these docs.
Good luck with it all, and just take each day as it comes.
It's hard to take it day by day.
I took a year off my studies because of my pain, Now after my surgery, my mother thinks I've magically recovered. My mother doesn't exactly understand, I can't blame her it's just hard when she's the one who is supposed to understand more than anyone else.

Even my hubby keeps saying: "When you are better after your op..."!!!!!!!!! Yet he has been with me through the crap for the last 5 years!!!
Nobody but the sufferer fully understands the illness. I am not working at the moment because of how bad things are, yet the "daily depression" is driving me out of my mind! I try and talk to family, they don't care (brother just had his 4th child so that is all we ever hear...I have now stopped calling - thank god they live on the other side of the world otherwise I would physically throttle my mother!!!) and as for the in-laws...well, just like your mum, they think once the op is over with then everything will be wonderful.

Saw my doctor today, good and bad news.
There was endometriosis, but they removed all off it and I should have started to feel better by now. So, I'm getting the mirena implant in two days.

Not sure what to say...just that hopefully you WILL start to feel better soon.
Did your dr say anything else or give you any other options or was the mirena the only choice?
How are you feeling about it all?
