This morning I took my DD to a birthday party. I just happened to notice that she is LOTS taller than all her little friends...never really noticed it before I guess because I'm not sitting there watching her for a couple of hours with them like I did today.
When we got home I decided to measure her since I haven't done so in a loooong time. She is 125cm - she is 4 next month.
Looking at the charts this is WAY above the 100th percentile for height for her age. It is actually the height of a six year old on the 100th percentile.
Weight she is about 25th, which she has been since birth. She was always around 60-70th for height but now she's so far off the chart I'm a bit freaked out. DH and I are average height.
She's healthy, eats like a horse and I don't have any other worries with her.
my 4 1/2 year old is 124 cm and she is one of the tallest at kindy. The only thing i have found as she is growing is people expect to much from her sometimes as they think she is older. We have been told by the community health centre that she will be a tall adult. Her dad is tall but im average . My other 2 girls are also of average height only in 50th percentile but my 4 year old has always been over the 100th percentile. i wouldn't worry as long as she is happy and healthy.
My son will be 4 in november and is 113cm tall... He is growing fast still.... I find his feet are just as big as he is tall... Any of you notice your tall kids have big feet... His shoes are size 13 already
There is a girl in my DS's class at school who turned 8 not long ago and she is a good foot taller than the next tallest girl in her class - she's always been a very very tall and lean girl (but she is like her Dad). She's probably just doing all her growing now, and will plateau later on when all her peers are doing their growing - they will probably all even out eventually, but your DD may still be quite tall kwim?
My DD was 4 in June is is 113cm and I thought she was pretty tall too LOL.
