Does anyone else have a family bedroom?

I'm all for sex all over the house but I also want to act on it in the comfort of my bed when I wake up in the middle of the night with urges

Yes, I do miss that kind of spontaneous sex. And morning sex....but hey, something's gotta give when you have 3 kids, lol! I doubt we'd be having morning sex with the kids around anyway, since we're usually up no later than 5am. But sleepy night time sex would be nice! That will all come back with time I guess. It's more important to us that the kids are happy and we are getting good (or at least better!) quality sleep.

We've recently sidecar'd a spare cot to our king so DD sleeps in with us once we go to bed and DS joins us at some point before morning, our sleeping as a family has improved out of sight, we all sleep 100 times better.

As for sex, we get intimate while the kids are in their beds/cot before we retire for the night and join us..... I do miss morning sex though but thats not a co'sleeping issue, thats a having children awake in the house issue LOL

We have DS (18months) in his cot in our room next to the bed. Works for us. DH often ends up in the spare because I snore but generally we sleep together. I have recently thought of getting him into his own room..........seems like too much hard work.
My cousins family had a "nest bed" on the floor for their family and they all slept together for about 6 years. I think it was only when their kids went for sleep overs and cottoned on to another way of sleeping that the kids led the move to their own rooms.........
I reckon I'll be OK for DS to move to his own room when he starts bringing his GF home for the night!

I love the idea but don't have the room. I am think about moving DD1 and DD2 into a double bed, and hoping they stay in it if they are beside each other.

Yes we all sleep in one room. We have a queen and a single and that's enough room so far. If we have another baby we might need to get another single or maybe replace the single with a double. We love it! I always feel I maximize sleep and the kids choose who they want to sleep with (although its usually me!)

Our sex life has never been better! We never did the middle of the night version anyway, but I miss the goodnight and good morning variety

I've seen that before MN, it's awesome isn't it?! I wish my room could look that nice, rather than just the hodge-podge-shoved-where-ever-they-fit look we have going on now! That is the only thing that really bothers me about our room, is that it just looks terrible! I would love if I could make it look nicer.

Yep we have a family bedroom too. Well for me DP and DS3. DS1 is 21 and DS2 is 19 so don't think they'd be keen to share
We have our queen and DS3s single right next to it. When DS gets in with me DP will sleep on the single. DP quite often sleeps on the lounge though as he falls asleep watching TV and I can't stand having the TV on in the bedroom when I'm trying to sleep. New bub is due in 5 weeks and we have bought an Arms Reach Co Sleeper so it will go one the other side of the bed

How does it effect your sex life?

As for this you just find other places to do it like the others have said. If I have the energy anyway. Sometimes I would like to be able to just do it in bed, but I worked out sleep was way more important than sex in bed

Yes, we all sleep in the same room. We have a queen bed plus DD's single bed next to it. DS sleeps in a co-sleeper bed that goes inside our big bed. DD has her own room with her own queen size bed, but she prefers to sleep with us and we prefer her to be with us too. I think this is way more natural than the western concept of everyone sleeping in their own room.
