    mother in law help!!!

My my partner and our son have recently moved into the inlaws house which has been hell she takes over and tells me what i should do aswell as leaving huge lists of things to do for her each day. So far i have taken it all in stride but its affecting me and my partners relationship now. Feels like im gonna throw a tantrum very shortly any ideas?

    mother in law help!!!

You need to set boundries, sounds like she is expecting you to be her maid. You and dh need to sit down and explain that dh and your don come first you are happy to help out if you can and will keep the place tidy but you need time as a family unit and that she is the grandma nit the mum so your rules stand in regards to him.

I hope you can work something out. We are extending our house at the end of the year and as much as I love my mil I couldn't move in, we have a converted garage we can use thank goodness.

She leaves you lists of things to do each day?! Why on earth would she do that? You need to set some boundaries. Think of it as if you were boarding with a stranger, what would you do, and be expected to do around the place.

    I know how you feel

Hi, I really feel for you, I had the exact same problem last year when we were living with my mil and I see everyone has said you have to set boundries but it is so hard when you in that situation. Especially because it's their house and you feel obliged to do what they ask even if it is unreasonable. I hated it and unfortunately I couldn't fix it, I told my mil that I just was too busy and tired to do all the things she wanted and she did stop asking me to do things but she just *****ed about me to everyone and even though we moved out we are still having problems and when I talk to my husband about it he just gets angry and upset with me, saying it's my fault.
Sorry I don't have a good answer, but maybe your mil will be different if you talk to her.
    Good luck
