My son and I went to Smartstyle at the Walmart on Bayfeild street in Barrie Ontario. We both contracted headlice. I know it was from the haircuts as my son is not in school or daycare and I am a stay at home mom. I have called the Health Unit and they have received other calls regarding this salon. they state they have given warnings to this Smartstyle. I wonder why Smartstyle is still in business when they do not comply with standard health rules and regulations.
I would keep at the Health Unit to do something. That is so bad, you get a haircut and lice, Yuk.
If the local department doesn't do anything go higher as it sounds like they get a warning and then no follow up. Maybe a letter in your local paper saying you have heard of other cases and nothing has been done. Why should you have to pay for treatment. It was my worst nightmare when my girls were in school as they had long hair.
