How often do you speak to your mum?
Like lisaandshaun and hetty- bad relationship so now not spoken over 18 mths. Wasn't very close before that either though. She found out about her soon to be born grandbaby over Facebook by accident, mentioned it to my sister but hasn't bothered to ask again.
I never look forward to Mother's Day, other than for my now MIL, and hopefully this year I'll be a mum!
My children will never know what's its like to have a mum like mine.
I have aunts that are more like my mum than my actual mum!
Sorry for downer post but hopefully others will be grateful for the beautiful mothers they have.
Re: How often do you speak to your mum?
I havent spoke to her in about 18 months now. Shes not what id call a mother and has told us she wishes she hadnt had us. Im close to my aunty and always have been. Its heartbreaking tbh x
How often do you speak to your mum?
Most days. I love my folks to bits and while we are living just around the corner from them, we are making the most of it and see them as much as possible too - often 4-5 times a week. They're great value, can't imagine my life without them. I feel very blessed.
How often do you speak to your mum?
Almost every day via text messages, and I visit a few times a week. We find it strange and a bit lonely if we don't see each other often  Though on her end she tries to disguise it as needing to see Amelia :p We're very close, I can't imagine not having a good relationship with my Mum. I actually cried when I found out DH's mum isn't in his life - it was the first time I'd really come across anyone who wasn't close with their mum :-/
She and my Nan had this fantastic connection, and I was starting to rebuild a strong relationship with Nan when she died. I can only assume that'll continue with her and Amelia as well.
How often do you speak to your mum?
I speak to my mum a few times a week. I mostly keep in contact with my family over FB though as they all live a few hrs North & South of me; so I basically hear from mum daily and speak every second day.
How often do you speak to your mum?
Most days - if not calling then by SMS or email. My mum and dad care for my sons 2 days a week so I see them regularly too.
Re: How often do you speak to your mum?
If talking to her spirit counts, then yes, I 'talk' to her everyday. 24 years since she left this Earth and I still miss her like it happened yesterday. Very envious of those of you who are close to your Mums and sad for those who have little to no relationship with your Mums :(
Re: How often do you speak to your mum?
We talk over the phone almost everyday and I visit every second day or so. Now. It wasn't always like this. She is bat sh*t crazy and certainly not about to win any parenting awards, but a wonderful best friend for me. Since she moved from being an hour away to be 5 minutes down the road, we have really bonded. Through wanting to start a family, ttc, loss and pregnancy she has been wonderfully supportive and positive for both myself and dp.
How often do you speak to your mum?
:
I entered counselling when I was 26 & my reason was to make sure my daughter does not grow up with a mum like mine.
Do you feel that this helped? I've often seriously considered the same thing for the same reasons.

For those who don't speak to their mums/dads do you ever worry history may repeat and your own children won't speak to you?
All the time. I would hate for that to happen to me and my kids. That's why I've made a very conscious effort to educate myself on parenting and to teach myself to be exactly opposite from my own mum. I can only hope and pray that my effort pays off in 20 odd years.
You know, people always say that when you have kids you appreciate your mum more. It was the exact opposite for me. I felt warmer towards my mum before I fell pregnant. My first pregnancy was very difficult for me because I suddenly realised all the things my mum did when I was growing up weren't normal and I really struggled to comprehend how a mother could treat her child like that. I don't know if it was because I was the oldest, because I was a girl, because I was different to her as a kid or simply because I was me, but my siblings have both acknowledged that the way she treated me was completely whacked and different to the way she treated them. It's something I have seriously considered speaking to a pro about but I'm scared that down the track they will make me talk to her about it and I'm not ready for that.

Re: How often do you speak to your mum?
Im very much the same as you chody! My mum and I dont have the best relationship and there is a lot of hurt there. We do talk and are trying to work through it for future grand babies sake, but I am much more open and closer to my MIL! :)
Re: How often do you speak to your mum?
I usually speak to my mum every second day or so, I see her nearly as often, but sometimes only once per week when the family catches up for Sunday dinner.
We only live about 5-10 mins away (about 15-20 in traffic) so we're close as well :)
