    Mother of the year...NOT! LOL

Ok, so it's first day back at school today, we've moved and so it's DD's first day at her new-old school.

Managed to get up on time this morning (sort of), then realised DD's school uniform needed the buttons moved (she's such a skinny-minny) Oops no time for that now, how invisible can I get my safety-pinning? LOL Then I realise we've completely forgotten to shop for new shoes (um did mean to do it on Sat but was recovering from an overnight at the hospy and subsequently forgot). So lucky last year's shoes JUST fit.

So, we managed to leave the house on time BUT not count for the first day traffic so DD was late and had the whole awkward, "This is the new girl" moment hovering at the door of the classroom. I'd covered half her books, thinking, we'll get instructions on what to do with the rest on the first day, right? WRONG, every other family in the school arrived with the entire 10 kg box of stationery. And brand new pencil cases. (I made DD rummage for an old but cleanish one late last night and hastily stuffed a few pens and pencils in it). We'd run out of printed labels and I'll be dashed if I'm gonna write her full name on all million of her pens & pencils so thought yep I'll get some tomorrow. Apparently ever other parent in our area is organised enough to get the labellling done BEFORE school starts.

OMG I can't be the only half-assed shambling excuse for motherhood that only just managed to get their child back to school on the first day, can i???

Hahaha no! I fished DS school bag out of the bottom of the washing basket (where I had been intending on cleaning it for the last 6 weeks) and had to scrape off a 6 week old burst banana from the bottom and hastily wash it out.

DS ann DD are both wearing shoes with holes in the sole (you can't see them) because I forgot to get new ones

Luckily they supply all the stationary!

Oh and lastly DD was sitting in a circle in her class at the beginning for 10 mins introducing themselves and when she turned to give me a hug goodbye I realuised she still had toast and straberry jam all up her face - nice

    So no, not just you!

My DS had to wear his indoor soccer boots to school on the first day cos I hadnt bought new school shoes yet and his old ones had major holes in them.
