Signs that you're turning into your Mum/Dad

I'm turning into my mother.
DH and the boys are away and I've turned my back on the kitchen and the tidying and picked up my tools
I've repaired a table (I think, test will be tomorrow when I turn it the right way up) and I've sanded back the top of another. Tomorrow I do the legs and drawers and then I'll stain it.

So far my family have never returned to find me bashing out walls with a sledge hammer but the day will probably come lol.

I said to my three year old daughter 'don't stick your chin out like that when you are speaking to me'. As soon as I finished saying it I realised Mum used to say that to me.

Hahaha, been there -- hated it the first time I did it - now I've just accepted that I am old and they are 'the youth of today'!

I got home from work and started icing my hip and complaining about my aches and pains. Oh dear, my mother never stops complaining about her aches, she would be so proud

I'm definitely turning into my mum.

We say exactly the same thing at exactly the same time. It's creepy. It is so bad that my youngest actually called me Grammie a couple of times.

So far, I've done the whole, "If I come in there and it's the first thing that I see..." and I've counted to three.

Which is exactly what my mother would say whenever we left the door open.

Its my dad all over!!! And now even DS says it to his toys!!!!

I actually felt like calling my dad and apologising for continuously doing what I had been asked NOT to do many many times as a child lol Or for not doing things that I was asked to do!!!

I didnt though.... I might wait til a bit more guilt builds up!!!

I have a habit of calling DS a "greenhorn" which my dad always called us as kids (in affection of course!)

Tonight it dawned on me that I'm my mother all over. As a kid I remember watching her do her "beauty regime"-mostly impatiently-she has always been very proactive in looking after her skin. Not so much the make up side of things, but cleansing, moisturising, sunscreen etc. She is a very "naturally beautiful" lady.
And tonight as I sprayed my face with toner and started applying my moisturiser (paying extra attention to those prone to be dry patches!) and then went and slathered the rest of myself in body lotion while DS watched in a mixture of boredom and curiosity, it hit me. I'm turning into my mother XD
