Children are such mirrors to our true selves, its scary!

(Wasnt sure where to post this....here will do for starters, mods, please move if you can think of a better spot )

DD is 19 months old and every day becomes more of a mirror to me and the way i act/parent, its actually quite shocking some times!

The last two days she has started tutting. if we ask her to do shomething, not do something, if she is stuggling to do something etc, she tutts, clicks her tongue. she even tutts then huffs if she is really annoyed at something. She was putting her shoes on today and not doing very well...she tutted, huffed and under her breath muttered 'crap'

Thats me, its a mirror, i had NO idea i tutted so much, and i certainly didnt realise i had taught her to say 'crap' i asked DP and he said i do do it alot, its annoying for me to listen to her doing it so much, she sounds so frustrated and short tempered, i must sound like this all the time to her

Children really open us up and let us see our true selves, good and bad! i hope that DD continues to teach me about myself and helps me to become a better mother and person.
Interested to hear others peoples experiences of this!? anyone?....

im not really sure if its the same thing, but if im really happy.. DD is really happy, if im down and out, she's a sooky bum!!

One day i was talking to my MIL about somehting that was really upseting me, i was holding DD and getting right into it, getting teary and cranky, DD started getting really really upset, im trying to calm her down (as best i could while i still went on at MIL) lol and the MIL stopped me, took DD and told me to calm down coz i was upsetting DD.. i hadnt really noticed it before but now i take notice and she really does mirror my emotions, its so cute but scary at the same time lol.
Sorry if that went OT for a bit there

I've noticed this SO much. It's been a huge motivation to work on all my faults and bad habits! Sometimes I feel like I'm growing and learning with my DS in some ways

    Ditto.
Both my kids do annoying things and a lightbulb goes on in my head. I realise its the same thing I do, and then I try and correct my habit/behaviour cause I now know how annoying it is!

What's more worrying is when DS picks up a catchphrase of mine and the next week I'm at his Nursery school only to hear about ten children all using the phrase! It seems positively viral!

At the moment, it's "I'm just..."

I say "I'll be with you in a second, I'm just on the loo." "I'm just cooking dinner right now." "You get snakes and ladders out and I'll just put the washing on then come to play."

DS says "I just going into the kitchen" "I just drinking my drink" and "I just making a mess".

I get to nursery and DS's best mate comes out with "I just eating all the different breakfasts" (they have a choice of four cereals, he had all four in his bowl this morning).
