QFG Townsville

Hi Ladies

I was wondering if any of you have used QFG Townsville, I have my 1st app in just of a weeks time and wanted to know some of the things that happen in your 1st app??

Im starting to get abit freaked out!!! I know theres probaly nothing to worry about but I feel im starting to run out of options when it comes to having a family.

Hey there Trying to! Dr. Tal said you were freaking out about your appointment. I haven't used QFG Townsville, but I did do our first IVF consult (amazingly, I found out I was pregnant about a week before we booked in to go ahead!).

Anyway, the first appointment was pretty general. They took our photos (suppose so they know what we look like and can greet us by name) and gave us several pages of medical history forms to fill out. They wanted to know any health issues, meds we're on etc as well as our lifestyle e.g. smoking, drinking.

We then went through to a small sitting room with lounges, where a lovely nurse spoke to us firstly about the different types of assisted conception then went step by step through which plan of action would be best for us and why. She had pictures and diagrams and we got a huge information folder too. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions about time frames, medications and side effects, what to expect etc. She also went through costings. All up we were there for well over an hour. I felt really comfortable. At the end we were given forms for a whole host of blood tests that you need to have done before they can begin (both you and your partner) and some can take up to six weeks to get back.

There was no examination or anything.

Hey Babe

Just posted a thread about starting IVF. I am with the QFG in Brissy. Mostly consultations are to do with your cycling and blood tests. I had to have a Laparoscopy as we had been trying for 16 months. They may also do an ultra sound. They tend to take it step by step and are happy to let you determine what measures you are prepared to go to.... Wish me luck. Of course..... As I do You!!!!!! Let me know how you go? xox
