    Question Monash IVF?

I've recently had a bowel resection for endometriosis (successful) and thought that would solve all our problems with TTC. However, we've now discovered that my DP has low sperm count and we will require IVF/ICSI.We have been referred to Dr. Luk Rombauts at Monash IVF in Richmond and have our first appointment mid Sept.

So many seem to be talking about Melbourne IVF and i'm concerned we are wasting time going to Monash. Melbourne IVF is much closer to home so possibly would be a better option but feel as my specialist has referred us to Monash thats where we should go!!

Has anyone had good results/experiences with MonashIVF or Dr.Luk Rombauts?

    Thanks,

Hi LJ, I am going through Monash Clayton and haven't had any problems. I have a different Dr though. There are a lot of people on here that have used Melbourne IVF, but I don't think that is because Monash is not as successful IYKWIM. Each clinic seem to do things a little differently but they are all aiming towards the same final outcome. I would just go with who you are comfortable with. I chose my Dr first, and he just happened to be associated with Monash.

Im with Monash also, different doctor as well - and since its my first cycle i cant give you a proper opinion on which is better as i dont know any different to Monash, but like Megan has said I found my doctor first who is just exceptional and opted to go with whoever he was working with as i value him and trust him immensly. I think you should really feel comfy with your doctor as he runs the show when it comes to your health and your treatment, the nurses go by what your doctor has advised.
I am loving Monash though, they have been just awesome and their service is amazing, they make you feel really comfy - but like i said i dont know any better, maybe Melbourne IVF is better??

best of luck on your journey xx

Thanks Megan and Mummuy 2 4. I guess I'll see how we go when we have our first appointment in 4 weeks and see how we feel. I'm sure I'm just being overly anxious for fear of wasting time. Another 4weeks still seems soooo far away and I can't stop thinking about it and feel like it's doing my head in a bit!
Mummy 2 4, I'm glad that you're so happy with Monash and I wish you all the best with your first cycle.

If anyone else has any good/bad experiences with MonashIVF I'd love to hear them.

Thanks Kelly it's great to hear positive stories and congratulations on your gorgeous boys.

Monash Richmond and Clayton are both about an hour from home which is not a major problem but i was wondering do you have to go Monash for all the blood tests ect... or can you go to a local pathology centre?
