I purchased some second hand BBH nappies last week (thank you Carrie!) which I'm very excited about! I have used the hemp with no dramas, but I used the bamboo last night for the first time, and while I am very happy with the absorbency, it has a really strange smell this morning........is that normal? I've had to put it on to wash straight away, because I couldn't bear the smell to hang around LOL!

I've never had this with any other nappy, is it just something to do with the bamboo?

Is this the first bamboo nappy you've used? They can be a bit smelly especially the overnight ones. Kind of like an ammonia smell.

Yes, it is the first time I've used a bamboo nappy, and it was overnight. Glad to know it's not just me! I use terry flats most of the time, and I haven't noticed any smell on them, though his bum often seems to stink of wee IYKWIM!

I haven't noticed the same problem with the bamboo during the day, so I might just save them for daytime ATM
