Stinky Nappies

HELP

i know there is a simple way to stop my nappies from stinking, but i would really like step by step instructions.

I dont wash in hot water as that part of our machine has broken. I could however bucket hot water in for a wash cycle if thats whats needed for a once off, or for a couple of times.

Usually i rinse cycle, then wash with 1/2 the amount of powder.
Sometimes i will do another rinse if i notice that they are particulaly stinky, but dont like doing that as i feel i am wasting water.

bicarb and vinegar apparently - thats what Gigi has recommended to me once before..

If my nappies are smelly I toss a bit of vinegar and a couple of drops of lavendar oil in the fabric softener bit at the top of the agitator. Also do you dry them outside?

Snacks - I do dry them outside, but the washing line is undercover... if i put them on the clothes horse the dog takes them

Hummm i wonder how much vinegar and bicarb... is that instead of washing powder?
Snacks do you still use washing powder with the lavendar and vinegar?

maybe i should switch nappy powder too
