Please help before i go crazy i dont know what to do :(
I know ive posted before about the soy formula but im just at a loss here!My ds is 4 weeks tomorrow and hes been formula fed from about a week old he has been a settled happy baby except his poos worried me as they were only every 2 days and hard pebbles.so over the last 3 days ive been slowly changing his formula onto nestle nan H.A.gold on the advice of a naturopath because my DD has had eczema from about 6 weeks old when she started formula and she also had hard poos so he thought the stools and eczema could be linked, well hes probably only had about 4 bottles of the nestle in 3 days on the adviice to give just one bottle a day then 2 etc because its got no caesin in it etc and see how he goes.well he did 2 poos yesterday which is great although they were really runny and bright green and he was crying but i just dont know if its me being a panicker but since hes been on the change he hasnt been settling i have been up the last 2 nights with him not settling and even in the day hes not himself,i just dont know if this can happen at any formula change and not neccesarily be the new formula or maybe just a coincedence and formula fed babys go threw growth spurts too or fussy ness i just dont know and hes only had a few of the new so im thinking would it really be that i just dont know whether to stop the change over and just go back to normal formula or maybe try totally changing now since ive already started and see if its the combo of the 2 giving him trouble and maybe he be ok once he only on the one or is it that at all i just dont know just seems hes only been like it since this change buut could a few bottles really do that any advice please would be so helpful!!
A change in formula will possibly mean a change in poos (colour and consistency) as well as being upset. The other issue is that the HA has more iron(I think) and it could be impacting on your DS gut. I'd wait it out for a few more days & see if he settles and the poos do too.
It can take time for a bub to get used to a knew formula. Generally they say to finish a whole tin before switching again. It took us awhile to find a formula ds2 liked. So maybe just give it a bit more time. See if he settles.
