When should I stop giving bub formula?

Ok bubs is 15 months old and has three 180 ml bottles a day. I do have him on diluted juice and cows milk through the day. He has had a very traumatic beginning to life(I am his carer), so I've been reluctant to remove the bottle although we have dropped one so far. He doesn't really like solids, he came to us unable to eat anything much, but now is eating so much better, however it seems the bottle is a comfort for the lil guy.

I'm considering at least dropping one bottle so that its only the morning and night bottles he has. However he is not keen on cows milk.

Can anyone please offer me some advice on what the go is these days? many thanks

Up to you whether to continue the toddler formula, I haven't done it with my older two, and will stop and go to cows milk when DD2 turns one as well.

Most toddlers seem to live on just breathing air instead of food though, so I think thats a pretty common thing

ETA - I just remembered - my sister gives her kids toddler formula, but she mixes a couple of spoonfuls in with cows milk instead of water - maybe you could slowly get him used to it that way?

Thanks Arimeh's Eden, I tried the toddlers formula but he spat it back at me lol so I ended up throwing it out.

I'm thinking maybe dropping that afternoon bottle is the way to go. He does drink fairly well from a sippy cup. I did read that some on here have tried part formula and cows milk. Do you think thats worth a shot? If so what would the ratio be?

    Thanks heaps!

I did that trick to help my DS1 get used to cows milk (which it turned out he was allergic to down the track). I think I started with 3/4 formula and 1/4 cm, then 1/2 and 1/2, then 1/4 formula and 3/4 cm. Hope that makes sense. It worked well for us, worth a shot I think. Good on you for being so sensitive to his needs, good luck

WRT to the cows milk, it may be too harsh for his tummy. Try goats milk (diluted) or A2 milk (they remove some of the proteins which make it difficult to digest.)

Sorry, know nothing about formula though!

Yup thats what I do to get them used to it. Every week I drop another scoop of powder and fill the rest with cows milk to what they normally have So at the moment, Eden is having 4 scoops of powder so it would take basically a month to be on full cows milk

And sorry - I assumed you meant toddler formula, not Step 2 (sorry for the assumption - my bad!!)
