12 month old and dairy milk/ 12month+ formula

    Hi,
Now that my bub is 12 months old I have been advised to stop formula and start offering dairy milk a couple of times a day. I think she has some tummy pains after every time I've given her dairy milk so I'm not sure her little tummy is ready for it. So I started giving her the S26 12 months+ formula to see if this made a difference and she has been having diarhea, looking pale and lacking in energy. She's been eating ok mostly. I'm not sure if this is related to the 12 months+ fomula or just a coincidendal bit of gastro. She doesn't have a high temp or any vomiting.

Has anyone else used the 12month+ formula? And if so have you had any problems like this? I'm giving her the 6 month+ formula that she used to have today to see if this makes a diffeence, but I don't want to be mucking around with this stuff too much. What do others think?
    Thanks

I was a bit slack with the transition from formula to cows milk. My DS stayed on the 6 + months formula (S26 Gold) until he was about 15 months. We did the transition over a fortnight, gradually reducing the number of scoops in the bottle. He wasn't too keen on the change in taste but didn't have any pains or different poo.

I don't think there is any harm in taking the transition slowly. I would decide if you want to transition to cows milk or toddler formula and just do that. It might be a bit much to transition onto toddler formula and THEN move onto cows milk.

The sickness could be coincidental or it could be caused by the changes.

If it was my son, I'd go back to whatever was working for a few days and then look at starting again.

I am a bit like Fiona in that I held off giving DD cows milk for a few months. Toddler formula and milk is high in sugar so I just kept her on the normal formula she had been on and slowly increased the amount of cows milk she was having and by the time she was around 16 mths she was on it full time. If you think it is related just put her back on what she was on and if it keeps going it might be something else but at least her system isn't having to deal with both at once. She will be perfectly fine to keep having the formula she has been on for a few more months. xoxox
