    Pumpkin help - Advice needed

I've been growing vegies for a while now but am having a problem with pumpkin. It's grown everywhere (as expected), large, strong and healthy leaves, and lots of flowers. But when the pumpkin is growing, it gets to the size of a golf ball, burns or goes brown and dies. I have one at the moment that's gotten to the size of my fist and have noticed that even though it's the right colour, it's going mouldy.

Should I give up? Is Melbourne's weather at the moment too humid for this? I don't mind putting up with my entire sideway and under the clothesline being covered with pumpkin vine, but not if it isn't going to produce anything.

Perhaps they are not getting pollinated? YOu could get out there and smoodge some pollen on to the female flowers and see what happens. Otherwise they might have some sort of fungal rot infection - not sure what you could use, ask your local nurseryman for a recommendation (if you go to the expensive nursery and ask the oldest person there you will usually get gold-star advice)!

LOL, thanks Marydean. Maybe I'll take a little one down to the nursery and see. There are a lot of bees out there and they seem to be doing their job, but maybe they're slack!!!
