Boring subject maybe but we are on tank water and our water pump is currently broken so I don't have any water. And at times like this when the tank water runs out or the pump breaks or we are out camping I realise just how much we need water.
I can't flush the toilet, I just painted something and then forgot I don't have any water to wash the brush, I can't soak a breakfast bowl or wash my hands or rinse my toothbrush
Know that here. Also on tank water with a pump. Thankfully we also have a bore for outside stuff, but it also has an electric pump. So if it breaks down or we have a power outage we have no water.
We have a bench top water filter that we keep topped up, so at least if the pump goes down we have drinking water for a short while.
Yeah astrid we have a couple of huge gum trees over the shed and house which because of the tannin makes the water brown so we have to go get mineral water from the springs in hepburn to drink and cook with, luckily I have some of that in water containers.
I do notice it the most with blackouts, as I usually decide I should get some cleaning done as I can't do anything else. So much relies on water though. I can sweep, but then I can't mop. Can't wash up, or wipe down benches etc It is amazing how a lot of things use even the smallest amount of water.
how annoying, we're on tank water too and rely on an electric pump so every time we have power outages its the bain of my existance.
Do you have a tap connected to your tank so that you can just use gravity?? maybe at a later date look into having plumbed so that there is a tap as well so you can at least get water to help flush or rinse etc.
OR even get some hose and syphon some into a bucket.
