And if you're like me, you are only starting to think of your garden now!
What are your plans?
I spent yesterday cleaning out the sandpit and slide, and we have some decking that DH pulled off the back in a couple of sections that I am wanting to lay down - just wondering whether to put it on bricks or get some gal stumpy things. Or whether to just put mulch down around that area instead. There's heaps of onion weed to pull out down there!
In the front I'm starting the weeding and about to put fresh mulch down. Then I'm thinking a pile of spring colour pots of annuals next to the house, and in the front yard more colour.
Just wish that when DH clears out the car port next he actually doesn't fill it full of crud the next day like he usually does.
It's also time to start planting seeds for the veggie patch so I'll be doing that this weekend too. Just need to clean out the greenhouse first!
DH has lots of plans. I stay out of it now, as every plant I get can never be put where I want it as he as other ideas. I do get some say in what veggies get planted thankfully as I have to cook them.
We should have the chooks locked up next week in their own chickenopolis. Which means that hopefully this year we don't lose most of the seedlings to them scratching around. DH has planted about 10 fruit trees in the past month and has been working on a new native hedge at the front of the property.
I plan on having DH spray our Dock plantation before it gets too much more out of hand.
We have lost three Ficifolia's due to them blowing over int he wind then not recovering so we have 3 plants to replace and heaps of lawn to mow. The rest of the garden except one section is as good as it will get for a while now, hopefully in Nov we will get the new chook coup (bought not built) and run installed and completed then DD cubby house set up and swing set made.
I relocated some plants two weekends ago; four have not fared well  Now that we've decided that we're probably going to sell next year, I'm not going to do many vegies in our sideway, but plant it out instead, so it's somewhat developed and finished for buyers. Will still put in tomatoes though, and have parsley and rosemary out there, broccoli and brown onions currently growing. We also need to put in a path from the footpath to our side gate and meter box.
I'm a bit scared to go out the front this morning. The wind was whistling and everything was banging overnight. Last time that happened, I lost the head off my yukka. They're now five years old and really established, but I only just stripped off the lower leaves -which is exactly what happened last time. The trunk wasn't as strong and the head came off. Fingers crossed it's all good out there.
